There are some new skills and many that have additional uses in the Void.

Pilot skill (found on Habololy in the Tinker Book / Plataeau Book) is used by Spelljammer Helmsmen.

Knowledge (Spelljamming) - checks they tell you about the many facets of traveling in the Void or the Phlogaston.

Not typically.   It's not that they can't work, it just usually doesn't.  That's what the gnomes that brief you say.  Unless you have a knowledgeable character that's about all you get.

Higher level existing characters are irrelevant for race and class when choosing the low level characters.

Getting to other planes in the void is challenging.  Generally, it does not work.  The inner planes are near impossible to reach and the best chance of success is the Astral plane.

To detail some of what we talked about last night:

- clerics whose deity has no presence in the void can only cast up to 2nd level spells.  The level the cleric can cast after that is connected to the amount of influence the deity has in the void.  I will work on a chart.

- magic rules follow the atmosphere the ship has with it until that atmosphere turns over.  There are rules for magic in the void, but they don't come into play unless the ship has been in the void for more than a month without making planetfall.

Anyone aware of a spell that creates an permanent physical image?

Essentially, a spell that takes a picture or paints a painting?

There's permanent image, but that's not what I am getting at.

Everyone will bring an existing higher level character.

Then, everyone will have 1 or 2 1st level characters.

Those characters can be anything, but unique races are limited to one each.  (some chosen races include Giff, Kender, and Dohwar).

If you chose to roll three d6 with no re-rolls for your characters in front of the other players, you get to start with a powerful magical item.  If you chose to roll them in order as well, you get two magical items.

Character can be planet based or spelljammer based.

-Zero Gravity Combat: with this feat, you ignore all of the penalties to hit and armor class while fighting in no gravity.
That’s rad.
