"Know why? No.  But there were numerous tales from Icefia, Yellowia, the Great Forrest, even the Plateau of a ferocious Bugbear who dies in one great battle or another, or of a plague.  Taken individually, not all that surprising or noteworthy.  But, my dad had a theory that it was the same Bugbear in all of these stories.  He, my dad, can... (Gwen is clearly about to say something and you can see her change her mind about what she is going to say before she continues) knows a lot of people and reached out to them to get better accounts of what happened.  While he couldn't get first hand accounts of every battle, he got enough to theorize that the Bugbear in all of the stories was the same one.  With what we just witnessed here today, I'm guessing that our Zalthor may just be the Bugbear from those stories."
