RECAP
Okay, lots to unpack this week. I know I'm going to forget some details or make some mistakes, so for all those in attendance, please add notes as needed.
- We all made our way to our individual destinations, then to Melg to meet with Yoshi. Additional details to follow.
- Iwakasi was reincarnated as a Northern Elf.
- Laz was cured of his curse thanks to Clerics of Quan Yin.
- Yoshi had a year or so of research on the goings on of GoLK and the Celestial Bureaucracy (CB) and found out quite a bit.
- GoLK agents were simply hired mercs to help people forget about the CB so they couldn't creep back into Habololy.
- The CB is enormous; consisting of no less than 100 deities.
- CB agents and avatars of said deities are being sent to Habololy to imprint themselves on our world and rise back to power.
- Many avatars have been sussed out by The Oldest Orc (OO) and other knowledge deities' clergies and destroyed. Once destroyed, they loose footing here on Habololy.
- They sent many agents anticipating this loss, with the hopes that a select few representing the greater deities of CB would rise to power here.
- OO clergy have determined that the most powerful representative thus far is that of Layzae, the blue electricity avatar some of our characters ran into.
- OO clergy have also determined that they have yet to uncover all agents of CB and continue their search.
- There is some concern with Figment since he is Oni and is unaware of his origins. The possibility has come up that he may be a forgotten avatar of a mighty deity of the CB, but we have no way of discovering that right now, nor do we wish to send ill will toward Figment at this time. We all agreed to put a pin in that one, and no Windblade, we didn't tell Figment our thoughts. He's as blissfully ignorant as he's always been.
- With OO faithful now in the know regarding GoLK thanks to our experiences, they discovered that removing things from LoLK (Ravenloft) dimishes GoLK's power. It's more than restoring memories. That world acts as a siphon of his power and builds him up in ability. Removing people, items, memories, etc. from LoLK will reduce his power to where he can no longer sustain his grasp on divinity. It's an ambitious goal to attempt to defeat him that way, but seems to be the only way.
- OO, and other Habololian powers, have means of keeping GoLK in check and are less concerned with him than they are with CB encroaching on their Counsel.
- The general fear among Counsel deities is that, if GoLK is reduced in power too much, there would be a rush of forgotten knowledge returned to the world that would be best left purged, such as forbidden technology and dark powers.
- The group mentioned returning the knowledge needed to mend the stone pillars of magic, but OO advised against it.
- None of us wanted to venture back to Ravenloft, so we agreed to help in the crusade against CB.
- Pastor Oz brought up the moral dilemma of whether CB deities have a right to be here and that maybe they were booted unlawfully by outsiders long ago and colonized before our Counsel was created. That didn't go over well with OO or the group and was quickly dismissed.
- We left off in agreement that we would track down more CB avatars and dispense the evil ones and learn more about the neutral and good ones before making any decisions.
