Continue the conversation. Ideally we will start with action, or your alternative decision, right away next week.

Does he let us talk in private?

I ask what he and his creepy companion are capable of in combat. I also ask what we can expect from the cleric who hunts us. What are his tactics, battle strategies, casting capabilities, etc?

We also need healing, although I'm not comfortable with the evil floating head in a jar being involved.

If we're going to do this, our best chance at success is probably going to be an ambush.  That shouldn't be too hard to setup with all of the empty buildings around.  We should probably also try to figure out what the capabilities of the Cleric's bodyguards are.  Are they just muscle?  Godric and I can keep them occupied if that's the case.  What kind of magics do we have available to bolster our abilities?  I assume we are going to use Marina as bait to lure them where we want them?

Assuming we can talk away from him.  "We are being used by this monster as part of his plan, not ours.  Sadly, I think it is the only option left to us.  Under no circumstances should we allow ourselves to get set willingly to the place that has my dad and the deities trapped.  Nor do we allow Marina to be put in temporal stasis.

I am very suspicious of his story about Udarin.  'What about those people that were trying to find you?  Oh, after they reached me and I told them a story they agreed to willingly be put in temporal stasis.'  I think we should have him release them so that they can confirm his story and help us defeat the cleric.

So I think our order of goals here is:
1 - Survive the cleric
2 - Free Udarin and the others
3 - Close the rifts
4 - Stop the recreation of the Tinkocracy (which involves the destruction of the undead clicker gnomes)
The hand that rolls the Dice rules the world.

He has the light lead you to an anteroom and goes back to watching the battle.

Izad says: I have some offensive spells and I can augment you in a variety of ways. Josef, gesturing to the hybrid clicker-gnome, can control other clickers and is capable of defending himself, but that is not his strength.

Kelnek will most likely aid his bodyguard before wading in himself. The room is proofed against summoning and dimensional travel, so we won’t have to worry about that.

Can we release Udarin and Vasili - they would help us in this battle.

I believe if we are going to permanently close the rifts, we'd need to steal the green cocaine.  We can't stop him from creating a new machine to bind the spell to, we can't stop him from re-casting casting the spell that Amat taught him to link the spheres.  I dont' believe we can steal it an keep it  securte from him.  So, to that end - we either have to eliminate him or follow his plan to free the heroes.  I suspect they would do better than we can.

I see no other way out of this mess.

Also - we can't travel 5000 miles to the permanent gate.  And he can't send us directly home.  So again. leads me back to following his suggestion.  Ideally, we free the heros, and sucker the other back here to be destroyed.  Please.. we'd be doing the multi-verse a favor in releasing the Dieties of Protection.

Is this directed to Izad at this moment?

You have to go back into the other room to speak with him.

the questions for him can wait till we make a decision as a group..

I vote for helping and going to release the heroes.  I don't see any other option.

I agree. We release the heroes and destroy the evil cleric.

We'll need to find a safe place to hide Tess during the battle since she's unconscious. Godric could use some healing.

Release those in temporal stasis and defeat the cleric, I agree.

I have to carefully manage my spells for the upcoming battle since we can't rest.  Plus.. you don't look like your in pain!
