For reaching Iott without getting sidetracked, everyone gets 250xp...with bonus xp to come.

It is the 23rd day of the 9th month when you arrive in Sailoswa, Iott.

Questions about Sailoswa or Iott?

Tavis will answer anything as you walk.  He says, "The advantage to there being so many of you is that it doesn't look suspicious that we don't travel magically.  The Transformed Tower is not near Sailoswa, so again, it will not look suspicious for us to leave the city as if traveling far.  We will stop for supplies and a night's rest."

Can you give me a outline of laws here that might be different from other countries, i'm looking to avoid entanglements if I can.

Does Figment know he was charmed.  Most charm spells say once charm is broken then you realized you have been charmed.

Once you are not in his presence for more than 8 hours, yes you do.

Rano asks if there's any type of alarm set off when attempting to cast arcane magic without a ring or is it simply suppressed when within the protective bubble? Just don't want to tip anyone off to our presence. Also, is there a level cap to ringless magic? For example, can people cast cantrips, or is all arcane magic stopped without a ring? We've already determined that divine magic works just fine.

Tavis says, "It just won't work.  No alarm."

"Arcane cantrips have been known to work usually."

Cyrus asks: “Are there restrictions against traveling into the “abandoned” section in the north? And why is it abandoned? Do you know anything about an underground prison in the north? Are there dangers in the north that are absent in the occupied areas?”

Cyrus asks: “Are there restrictions against traveling into the “abandoned” section in the north?"

Tavis answers, "No, its not against any rules to go there, its just dangerous."

Cyrus asks: “And why is it abandoned?”

"Magic does not work correctly there.  It was broken by the Wild Mage.  We cannot speak his name, it is one of the magic triggers that remains in place."

"No"

"I am not sure I understand.  Do you mean what dangers exist in the north?  It is not patrolled by Iott, so you are in little danger of the authorities discovering you.  But it is a wild, uncivilized land."

Tavis' reactions and responses tell you he is not overly concerned about being arrested.  He is not looking over his shoulder or speaking in hush tones.  He doesn't shout and does take you in routes to avoid certain streets / buildings, but he is not hiding you.

I was concerned that whatever had caused Iott to abandon it might still pose a threat.  There are still islands where few dare to go for fear what once and may still dwell there. Why else would a nation as mighty as Iott not reclaim its own lands before seeking to expand its influence?

"Magic is not reliable there."

Sailoswa is the entry point to Iott for the majority of visitors, and as such has a lot of things to see and is designed to convey a sense of impressiveness and awe at what magic can accomplish.  The things you see are impressive and make you wonder at points how Iott could have lost any war if this is the way their people live and the things they can do.

No one you see is not obviously a foreigner is wearing armor and very few have a visible weapon that is not a baton or staff.

Using his ranks in knowledge(architecture), Breach opines on the variety of different ways each overly complicated structure could be toppled.

Rano says "If magic stood it up, then likely magic is the only thing that can bring it down."

OOC: I'm sure Breach will gladly take the Pepsi challenge on that statement and find way to crumble it in the most mundane way possible.

Does anyone do anything other than follow Tavis to the northern edge of the city (opposite from where the harbor is).

We're trying to maintain a low profile, so I suggest we follow quietly and quickly.

While Terlus is content and can easily do that; Vechi and his horse stand out of the crowd.  Vechi does lead his horse, as there are very few being ridden as you travel through the city.

I'm pretty sure we stand out in any crowd. We're quite the motley crew.

Iwakasi keeps an eye out for anyone who seems to take more than a passing interest in their group as they move through the city, but otherwise keeps silent unless directly questioned.

Jesse, now that they are in Iott is looking more and more uncomfortable and can be heard mumbling about how he should have kept up with some of his other studies.

Plenty of people watch you, no one for a length of time that concerns you.

Figment of course stands out since it is a brightly colored flying creature.  He flitters around and ask lots of questions and is fascinated by all the  magical architecture.

Wake,  calm walks does not make much sound and looks around to see if we are being watched.  ( I know you already answered that question)

While we are walking and listening to Tavis explain, as much as he does, about how magic works in Iott, Jesse will use his Innate Spell ability to cast Mage Armor on himself (Innate Spell Feat, Still/Silent/Invisible meta magics applied so there are no verbal or somatic components and there is no visual effect from the spell) to see if it works.

Assuming you don't have an Iottian ring, nothing happens.
