RECAP
We started right where we left off with the Umberhulk standing up on the wing of the ship and slowly lumbering towards the bubble hatch. The two other crew with Cornelis (I forget their names) armed themselves with melee weapons while Cornelis took a shot with the Gem Cannon. He missed twice, but eventually landed a clean shot to the chest that knocked it over, but didn't finish it. One crew with a warhammer or axe met it outside the hatch, but was beaten back by a massive swipe attack that left him sprawled out on the outside of the ship. the other crew was armed only with a dagger and ran away. Cornelis managed to get another round loaded, but not before the Umberhulk got him into a grapple, thus negating the shot.
During the fight, the captain ordered the crew to look for the creature and sent reinforcements up towards the hatch where they heard the sounds of gunfire. Several members made their way up including Sunny, Cas, and the bunny creature. It was Cas who pulled out a sling and eventually knocked out the Umberhulk, but much to Cornelis' dismay, the unconscious creature fell on top of him and pinned him with the full extent of his 7500 lbs. It took several crew to eventually push the body off and eject it into space.
After the conflict, we travelled another day towards Cald, then stopped one day out to practice with the ship's weapons and resources so that we would be better prepared for another battle and being boarded. After the brief practice run, we made our way to Cald and planned our next steps.
The Aeroblade informed us of where the vault was located in the general area of the Southern hemishphere of Cald near spiral mountains. We navigated to the general location after spotting it with our pilots and spyglasses. We landed, formed an away team capable of withstanding the extreme cold, then set off to search for an opening in the mountains that fit Aeroblade's description. Our trackers found landing gear imprints in the snow and we all followed them to the entrance to the vault. When we dusted off the doors leading into the mountain shelter, we opened them only to find an Umberhulk and another eel-like creature riding on its back. they busted out of the door and knocked Cornelis and another crew member prone. We immediately engaged in combat. Cornelis got one shot off before getting grappled and pinned, the others fought off the creature while Q manifested penguin troopers to his aid. The fight didn't go well, but we eventually took both creatures down after the captain and the energizer bunny joined the fight. As the Umberhulk fell to its death, it landed on Cornelis, and he was crushed yet again by Umberhulk girth. Not a good day for the Giff.
We left off right after the battle with the doors to the vault opened and the creatures who ambushed us dead. We now head into the mountainside to see where it leads us.
