RECAP
Once we all settled on where we were going and what we were doing, we were thrown a curveball when Yoshi contacted us via Sending stating that the Orcish Emperor has decreed that there would be a task force assembled to investigate the Celestial Bureaucracy and GoLK. He asked that those involved with the Ravenloft incident come help.
We first decided to deal with our dead companions, so we asked around and eventually made a deal with a Cleric of Tommimeo. I think it was Barek that we tried to resurrect, but he chose not to come back rather that be whatever race he was given. Iwakazi is being brought back to the Iron Tower since that is what the monks there have requested. Not sure what's up with Breach since his religion dictates that he remain dead.
In other news, the festivities in Ermaneo are ramping up to a fever pitch. By the time we all returned there, the city doubled in population and all manner of people were crowding every corner of the streets. Fortunately, Laz and others have housing in the city already and were kind enough to put us up after kicking out some squatters. We settled in and prepared for our journeys. While in the city, we witnessed a magnificent flying ship enter the tournament area and dock. When the travelers exited the ship, it was none other than Grand Admiral Gneon and his entourage of sailors and adventurers who walked down the loading dock. After greeting the crowd, he made his way to his grand hall and our group followed. They stopped to confront us, but Akrah quickly stepped forward to tell Gneon about our rescue of Taye in an Iotian prison. He called off his guards and invited us to dine with him that night.
We met for dinner and quickly became cozy with Gneon. Akrah and the rest of the group who went (there were a few who stayed behind) spoke to Gneon about a great many things including GoLK, Celestial Bureaucracy, Iott, Re'Alf, Isaac (who he didn't know, nor care about), Retrick, and removing Laz's curse. We negotiated a bit for curse removal and Gneon offered a guarantee if Laz served with him aboard his ship or a possible cure for 500 GP. Laz chose the gold and it failed, so he left in disgust. While there, our rhino friend asked to be returned to wild space to serve with his old captain. He was a quartermaster before being abducted. Again, Gneon said he could get him back to his previous captain, but we suspect it was just a ruse to have him serve on his spelljammer. Regardless, he agreed to the deal.
The conversation was productive, albeit a little disturbing at times. Gneon was able to retain all GoLK conversations while others in attendance couldn't remember what was being said. He told us of a plot by Re'Alf to take over the Halbolshphere and ensnare it in chaos. Lemugem was previously overseeing the Habolshpere, but was usurped by Re'Alf. They were apparently travelling companions at one time, but had a falling out in the demi-god state. Gneon offered to help get to the bottom of these issues if we joined his crew on the spelljammer. It was pretty clear that his main motivation was to get to the land of lost knowledge so that he could loot/take over. We weren't really in a position to subdue his excitement, so we all agreed to think on the proposal.
The next night, Gneon sent messengers to invite us to dine in the great hall once again. I can't remember of we actually met with him again or if that's where we left off before making any rash decisions on what campaign to do next in January. The bottom line is that a lot of information was revealed and many paths laid before us. With the introduction of Gneon, it quickly became clear that the two main choices for the companions are Gneon or Yoshi. Those who helped Yoshi before are inclined to help him. Those looking to expose Re'Alf, GolK, etc. are looking to join the crew of the spelljammer. It's also useful if any of your characters are able to remember any details about GoLK or Retrick. Those that can't will be at a great disadvantage and may want to consider alternate paths. DM did give the option of creating new characters for the spelljammer campaign if preferred.
