A Different Type of Memory Jar
« on: December 11, 2024, 10:02:58 PM »
Ok - so we are here with a spider servitor holding Marina.

Dylan is praying for "Activate Clicker " with his last 2nd level spell slot.  I'm also going to switch out my last 4th.

A brief recap for Godric would be a good idea, though he got all but the very beginning.

Questions for Izad or Iosef?

Ruby says,

"Just a clarification.  The undead-ish former leaders of the Tinkocracy who are now immortal automatons lied to and betrayed you.  They now want to conquer this world and later ours, turning them into their magic-less utopian visions."

Izad - is this the same thing that happened to you in the past, with the tinkocracy.  This sorta validates the whole issue with the idea in the first place.  I wise dwarf once said, doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results is the definition of insanity.  I do remember reading in the logs that "They didn't listen to you "

He looks very downcast. “As far as I know, this is the only betrayal, but your point is fair. I will have to consider who of the others, if any I reawaken.  For clarification, they are not undead. I have used arcane magic to salvage their minds and install them in the clicker chassis.”

DM, you mentioned a few sessions ago that some of the locals had said something about Izad having a similar appearance to Marius. Am I remembering that correctly?

" So.. they are effectively immortal? "
Dylan's mind wanders.. "  I mean.. this could be so beneficial for society, if the smartest and ones with most wisdom could live forever, life could be better for all. Art, Culture, Math, all these amazing contributions.  But this here.. might be the worst possible use-case  Rising those on the edge of insanity.  Imagine leaning history from a professor who was there to experience it.. ."

At Geb, one of the folk said the first time he came through that’s who they were afraid he was. But as you have seen them both there is no resemblance.

Izad says: “They are not immortal. As Gnomes they are already long lived, and the clickers will free them of the risk of disease and poison and will extend their lives, but not forever.”

“You grasp exactly what I am trying to do master Summerlight, risks and potential.”

With Great Power comes great responsibility.  You.. "extended" the lives of those who seem to be warped by the power which you have bestowed upon them. Actually, perhaps they were warped to start.   I do understand you are trying to do epic things, but you needed more caution!  Checks and Balances...
