Dealing with the cold of the Void is more challenging than on planet.
Endure elements does not function, as the elements of the Void are too extreme to counter with such a low level spell.
Protection from Energy has no impact in the Void.
Resist Energy does work.

Part of the idea is to make the Void very dangerous and difficult. If one feat allows a caster to be just as effective, its not that much different.

A Voider is the equivalent of a Seaman, the lowest level crew. Both Cas and Ool, appearing to have no skills that are useful, are relegated to that role.

I got the time a wrong, it was the 12th month when you got back to Ermaneo. I was picturing the month when the characters went to the Great Forest.
So it was dark most of the time you were in Ermaneo. By your best count, it is the 17th day of the 1st month of 818 when you arrive at the Rock Base.
