When researching a spell to take or using one you have in your arsenal, what is the definitive version of the spell we should be using in Habololy? For example, spell "X" is listed in one of the "Complete" books, a Forgotten Realms supplement, and in the Spell Compendium. Which do we use? Are there house rules for such decisions?

The Spell Compendium is the last book to come out, so any version in it is definitive.

Speaking of the Spell Compendium, have you seen this?

They appear to be releasing premium versions of all the core 3.5 books. Interesting.

I plan to get them or at least the PHB and the SC. I will probably wait until the prices come down.

Apparently they released the core books (PHB, MM, DMG) on 9/18/12. I only found out about it by accident while looking up the Spell Compendium on Amazon. Spell Compendium releases 4/16/13 and the Magic Item Compendium on 7/16/13. It's the 10th anniversary of 3.5, so it makes sense.
I guess they decided to cash in on previous success since 4th edition didn't go over so well. They already released the 1st edition premiums and the 2nd edition premiums (PHB, MM, DMG) are being released on 5/21/13.

I am curious to see if there will be an errata on moon bolt. It really needs it. Will we use the erratas if we get the books? That is the reason I would want them.
-
Yes we would use errata (post tournament).

The Spell Compendium doesn't say errata on Amazon

We will have to wait until it comes out and look to see if it has anything.

The Spell Compendium doesn't say errata on Amazon
Sure does. Here's the caption straight from the site.

Then we won't have to wait.

Do we want to all go in and get a copy for the group?
$35 on Amazon, so $4.5 a player if we all go in on it.
-
I will probably get my own copy because I like to have it at the house for when I level characters and make new ones.
-
I''ll probably pick up a copy of my own at some point, but I''ll contribute towards a group copy if everyone is on board.
-
I'm down for a group copy...but I as well will also be getting my own. It seems we may not need a group copy because we will have quite a few of them floating around it seems.
-
Since so many are getting their own copy, there will be no need for a group one.
