If you have a character with the Leadership feat, please post his name.  As per the rules, a character with the leadership feat counts as one level lower when determining number of categories the underdog gets to pick.

Can a character with the leadership feat utilize his/her cohorts? They're kind of like familiars, right?

No, you may not.  But as compensation, you are considered one level lower for purposes of determining underdog selections.
