Could you choose a location, where the cave is only 5' x 5'. This would prevent some from running and kiting.

Underground is one of the choices for setting.

You could choose the minimum arena size, which I think will be bigger than a 5 x 5 square.  Probably a 30 x 30 foot square will be smallest.

Could you choose darkness if you are underground?

It will be dark underground, unless someone lights it up.

Check the google doc for setting rules and fight match ups:

A couple notes:

If there comes a time when there are an odd number of characters going into a round, the highest ranked character gets a bye.

A character cannot face the same opponent twice.  This rule takes precedence over the player vs himself rule.

If a player has two characters facing each other, he may pick which character he plays.  He may also select who plays the other character, as long as the other player accepts.

As the tourney goes on, there are some additional rules that may need to be added.

1 - I will not allow to consecutive random scenarios to be the essentially identical, I will just re-roll.

2 - This is how I am going to score the following, however, I am open to debate.

Sounds like the simplest way to do it.
