Recap of the beginning of the session for those that missed.

RECAP
I'm not sure what everyone missed, but we subdued Kato and his cronies and brought them back to the temple of Tyrogatore. The fighting arena to be exact. The one opponent who died was intercepted by the cleric of Dedestroyt who happened to be in the area during the assault. He offered to take the body to his temple and assured us that Father Haas would be able to question him via Speak with Dead if need be. We didn't question the situation very much because Breach recognized him and vouched for his validity. There's likely more to that story, but nothing came of it last night.
Once at the temple, our runner fetched the Inquisitor of Tyrogatore. He is a well-muscled human with dark skin and chains wrapped around his fists and waist. Several of us questioned the captives while we were waiting for the Inquisitor. We didn't get very far before Kato escaped his manacles and knocked out one of his companions to prevent him from answering questions. He was immediately knocked unconscious and hit with a stunning fist for good measure.
We divided up the remaining captives into separate rooms and questioned one of them alone. He mentioned he was from Horaria, but that Kato wasn't. He didn't know where he was from, but that he made his initial appearance about 2 years prior on the islands. He said they all followed him because his martial techniques were impressive and that he was the mightiest in the area, so many followed him. Kato is a worshipper of Woo-Jen (spelling?) who is another Celestial Bureaucracy deity and has been recruiting others to follow his ways.
Once the Inquisitor arrived, he went to each captive individually and brought them to a room for "interrogation." The screams of pain and thuds of blunt force trauma could be heard echoing throughout the arena. During the questioning/beatings, the group found out of a safehouse for the Horarians who follow Kato. The Inquisitor ultimately found out the same info. He said he was going to go to the safehouse to take everyone out and bring justice to the cultists. Out of respect for our help in capturing the other cultists, he told us of his plans and gave us a head start if we wished to get to the house before him. We decided it would be best to get there first, so we did. That's pretty much where everyone else logged on, so you know the rest.
To sum up, we found some people in the safehouse hiding, unfortunately one of them decided to commit suicide rather than come peacefully with us, we set off some traps, found some symbols and writings of the interloper gods, and collected a bunch of "valuable" items before the Inquisitor showed up. We took the one young boy who surrendered to us back to the temple with the Inquisitor. One other was crushed by Breach's thundering entrance through the barricaded door and the other, as mentioned, leaped out a third story window rather than be captured. We now await whatever answers the Inquisitor finds out before continuing on our journey to rescue Taye.

The invader deity is named Zeng Wu. Breach is workshopping demeaning nicknames at Cyrus’ suggestion. How about “Zing Poo”?

Well, if you're going that route, may as well be "Fling Poo."

Barek asks Figgy if Tommimao is on the list of acceptable deities
Akrah looks over the boy.. " so Cato came to the hardest place he could think of to try to grow the faith.. I appreciate that.. it's very Bugbear of Cato to meet that challenge head on. But.. Most male bugbears don't live a full life. Well, at least the unsuccessful ones.. "
Talking to Breach.. " Seems the source of these new deities is definitely back in Ekarude, Seems the path is to travel back there and stamp out the source, once we have freed our friend. "

I thought it was good, cept when everyone was talking, of course

The boy speaks some common, so he understands some of what Akrah says, but he is very frightened by her. "Cado defeated. He said if he defeated, he not strongest."

I assume he is on the list. I let her know either way.

How did we conclude Ekarude rather than Kathow?

I don't understand, he gets xp

Ok. As he went off on his own I wasn’t sure if he would get the baseline award.

Akrah doesn't remember well

After getting back from Amatom, you were resting / reporting back to your homes.

Cyrus wants to show all of our captives/guests each of the CB symbols we have encountered and have them tell us what they know about them. He wants them to write them in common and Horarian (assuming at least one of them can write) to get a better grasp of the language difference.
Cyrus also asks if Cato received others, emissaries etc., like him while while here in Jaswap.
Gareth really wants to get on the way to Iott.

Cado says nothing.
One of the others says that they had been visited over the last two years by two others from elsewhere.
One was a blue lizardfolk. The other a horarian in white robes.

Did we encounter a blue lizardfolk or Sakor’akai?

It was sakorakai like, but not actually one. Similar but different. That was the Blue Bastard building the temple in Kathow from Season 1.

They know that symbols for powers. They do not write.

When Vechi arrives that night he listens to all of your stories with interest. He foregoes telling you about his collected information until the next day, as you are all tired and had a lot to tell yourselves.
The next morning (and you still have a chance to post questions for the day before), you are asked to stay at the hotel until Haas has a chance to talk to you. In that time, Vechi relays what he has learned.
-
Jaswap is not friendly to Tommimao, and is getting less so as Haas' rule continues. However, it will never go away since travel in the dessert is perilous and the faith of Tommimao is better at it than anyone. The religion is is pushed to the edges but is necessary. Thankfully, the Hassites (Vechi's word), are true to their word and loath to act in a non straightforward way. That makes dealing with them easier. The land right outside the city limits has lots of uses, as well as the ruins where the religion of Dedestroyt is given dominion.
-
To reach Iott, we will have to cross the Iottian Moat. I don't think that's what its been known as classically, but it works. The travelers tell me there are four ports near Iott that are most often used to reach it, and all of those go to the city of Sailoswa. The four ports are: Port Draeydan in Thalemert, Hilkport in Hertoplowis, Barnderry in Pacyr, and the free city of Ermaneo. There is also Magenthia, which is the closest to Jaswap, but is a much longer voyage.
-
Vechi is chewing on an anise smelling root as he talks to you. Note that you have not seen Vechi's purple horse since you arrived in the city.
-
The quickest way would be through Ermaneo. Its the closest over land, a week, and then several days voyage. As I said, Magenthia would be the least land travel, but long voyage. The others all have some good and bad parts to a plan. Cost, friendliest of the locals, scrutiny of the Iottians, and such.

Rano will go whichever route works best for the group, but he offers to help if we decide to take a longer voyage by sea since he has experience on the water.

Why don't we just swim across? Seems easier

What symbols were on the panels concealing the eel and turtle statues? Are there matching symbols on the statues?
We encountered a CB entity with an eel totem before. Feng Po, goddess of wind. I don’t recall context of that encounter but it was the group Esra was in. I don’t have a symbol written down, just the name, title and “eel”.

The symbol on the turtle is the 'bell' one you saw before in Jaswap on the chest of Cado.
Someone in the group recalls that the symbol you saw (I won't try to describe but can show later) on the eel panel does match that of the one you saw before with Feng Po.
-
Oz asks "Where's your horse?"
At Tommimao's.
-

Vechi replies, I don't think even you could make that swim. Its called a moat, but its actually a large body of water around 50 miles wide.

Did anyone use detect magic on the statues to get a school and power level?
If not, Breach will do it.

Gareth says no way to Hertopowlis and Thalmeret. Erameao and Pacyr both sound fine. Magenthia is not ideal but not a deal breaker.

The eel has abjuration / evocation / and divination and is moderate.

Esra is not seen during the day after the house raid. He returns to the hotel at dinner time and gathers those present. He asks Ibn to leave so that we can talk privately.
“I went back into the house to search it more rigorously. The Inquisitor was not thorough. I found these items” (which he lays almost tenderly on the table):
- Magical necklace 1 - faint abjuration
- Magical necklace 2 - faint abjuration
- Magical necklace 3 - faint transmutation
- Magical bracers - no school but moderate aura
- Magical bracelet - faint divination
- Magical silk wraps - faint enchantment
- Magical small pottery pitcher - faint conjuration
- 20 mundane coins of an unfamiliar metal with Horarian characters
- A mundane first aid kit, which Esra hands to Oz
“I also discovered that the fighting circle on the first floor of the house is enchanted. It radiates a faint abjuration aura.
I have not tested the function of any of these, or the circle. There are few options within the city for item identification. It seems those with arcane talents to do this type of evaluation have left or were pushed out during Iott’s reign. I did locate a sandoo merchant at the bazaar that may be able to do it, but he sought one of the items as payment, which is too steep a price in my opinion. Perhaps we will have more options at the next stop on our journey. ”

When we pick up, everyone will have healed and be rested as you spent a night and the next day at the hotel.
