Title: Perfect Plan

Because this came up a few times in regards to xp, here are the number of session for each player since we started with this campaign:

Dimitri - 24/24
Dan, Greg, Derek - 23/24
Tom - 18/24
Drew - 20/24
Jay - 22/24

Three seasons, 8 sessions per season.

RECAP for Windblade

Over the course of three or four days, the wizards successfully teleported all the Dwarven refugees to safety. While this was happening, Odde scouted the house where the remaining people in the village were holed up. There was 18 people there, mostly women, and one older Barbarian man who was an accomplished warrior, but had been blinded in combat with the acid spewing bug spawn.

We devised a plan to sneak the people out to the potato fields through their tunnels and then teleport them to safety. The plan went off pretty well until we were ambushed at the excavation site by two bug Dwarves. we defeated them, but not before taking a beating.

The Clerics healed us and were able to make our way back to camp and rest for the night.

The next day, we scouted the queen with Odde's personality shard to discover she was resting underground in a nest. We took the time to scout all around the village and found the nest was part of an elaborate set of tunnels. We found a total of five entrances, one at the tent area leading to the nest, and four more throughout town. We stuffed the four secondary holes with corn husks and left the main hole open, then lit fires to smoke out the queen. Mugrin generated wind to blow the smoke into the tunnels and force the air in the direction of the main opening. The plan worked and, within minutes, the queen emerged in an enraged state.

Beorn took the lead, but fell into a newly created hole as the queen rose from the nest. He squared off with her but failed to land a single blow. At this point we were worried since he seemed to hit pretty hard. Frustrated but not defeated, we pressed on. Kai then hit it with a mighty glaive attack and was thusly swallowed whole for his efforts. The casters them began blasting it with magic missiles. After a few hits, she swallowed Yannis whole as well. Things were grim initially, but our luck was about to turn...

It was at this time that we heard the other part of our plan go into effect. Earlier in the day, we asked the wizards to lure the bug minions away from the main battle and into a trap. Once we engaged with the queen, we heard lightning crackle, fireballs explode, and all manner of clicks and squeals from he bugs dying gruesome deaths. 

The sounds of battle inspired us (not Beorn) to continue the fight against the queen. Kai kicked his way out of the queens gullet and did substantial damage while doing so. Mugrin then took that opportunity to sap the queen of her confidence, and in a few short rounds, she was collapsed on the ground drooling uncontrollably. Needless to say, we finished her off quickly after that.

We left off after the battle concluded and the heroes stood victorious with all hostages/slaves safely teleported away. On a side note, you missed one particularly hilarious interaction between Odde and Beorn where Odde used one of his powers of sound manipulation to convert all audio spewing from Beorn's mouth into random llama sounds. He tried to speak, sing, and gesture, but all we heard was llama inspired white noise. It was the most peaceful 15 minutes we've ever had with Beorn and a true stroke of Odde's genius.

Sadly, I do not have perfect attendance. I missed the very first session.

I follow him with my Detect Magic spectacles on. I also make sure he doesn't take all the good stuff.

there is nothing useful in the immediate area..

Do you finish off the creature, it's sitting there unable to see past it's own mind to do anything, but still alive.

Behind you all, the twins, the pathfinder and Ryder return. there is a line of bodies where the onslaught of creatures smashed into a wall of force.. where fireballs, chain lightening and other spells devastated the horde or creatures, 50 or so bodies are piled up at a little gate left in the wall, and the silly creatures surged through it to their demise.

Once Beorn is done pummeling the queen with the shield, I'll scan its innards with my Detect Magic spectacles for anything inside it, other than Kai's glaive, which I retrieve and hand back to him.

Odde heads down into the tunnel to investigate. I believe my psicrystal spotted a hatch down there.
