RECAP
We met with more of the occupied Dwarves and discussed strategy on how to free the captives and escape from this town. We were shown a map (made with bread loaves) highlighting where everything is in town. Beorn and the other Dwarves in the party made their way to the Cleric of Smofarf so Beorn could get healed while the others gathered info.

We found out there's about 75 captives in the basement of an old warehouse at the East end of town. Just beyond that is the entrance to the mines that leads to the under mountain. We also discovered that the Gree are mining resources to manufacture ammunition for their firearms and that they're lead by a cruel taskmaster armed with a whip and sword. We went back and forth with each other trying to figure out the best course of action. The humans wanted to simply leave while the others wanted to break out the prisoners, sabotage the munitions depot, and a slew of other possibilities.

Wile we debated our next moves, we were contacted by our employer via Sending who said he and several others were on their way to get us but that it would take a while since they couldn't teleport to us. While waiting for them, we found out that our original teleport was intercepted due to interference from a cursed item that someone has on their person. We went back to the Cleric who was able to divine that it was the gem from the crazed Wizard in Crazy Rock that was the source of the curse. We were advised to keep the gem in Janus' bag of holding and not to take it out here in town as that would cause greater difficulty for us.

We ultimately decided to scout out the mines while waiting for the others to arrive. We were told there was only a makeshift iron gate blocking the path between the mine and the under mountain. We scouted the location, found the gate, and discovered there is an alarm trap on it. Instead of risking setting off the alarm, we decided to head back to the safe house (bakery) to strategize a more solid plan.

I totally forgot about Odde’s pack ants in the off-season. Left them at the port town prior to leaving to go to Crazyrock. They probably didn’t come along in the teleport?

They will make there way home, like a dog, right?

Feel free to ask questions, random Dwarves hang out with you, mostly to see if your are going to cause troble.

Correction

50 dwarves are free in the city - working the mines/caves etc.
25 dwarves are in captivity.

The town had over 200 intially, a portion escaped, a portion taken away.

I have an idea. We can use tunnels to free the captives and evacuate everyone up to the mine.

It will take some coordination, prep and time. Tunneling will be the easy part through liberal use of Metamorphosis on myself and my psicrystal to turn into dire badgers.

We’ll need to figure out in advance where the Undermountain entrance will take us and pack appropriate supplies for a large group.

Beorn, realizing there is not fight today, takes his armor off and sits impatiently.  He low chants some poems repeatedly adjusting them to make corrections.

He asks for some softer stone from the dwarves so he can occupy his time carving.
