On the way back, can we take 20 to do a thorough search of the trapped storage room with the symbol of Quan Yin in it?

Yes, and please list and magical means you use.  I assume Detect Magic.

To be clear, four captured men are in the brig of the Pride; four are in the captured ship's brig; and where is the last one?

Here is a list of things found in the quartermaster's room on the Kakushin:

- Holy Statuette of Quan Yin symbol
- Sextant
- Four hour glass (over a foot tall)
- Three waterproof chests (open with the captain's skeleton key but all have been emptied of valuables)
- Waterproof paper (80 pages)
- Ink (three colors, several vials of each)

The captain's room, which is a small room in the forecastle, has the following:

- 64 Gold Coins
- Two dozen small gems
- Silvered dagger
- Spyglass
- Two potions

Many unremarkable personal items, nothing magical.

On the captain, you find nice equipment and non-magical wedding ring, several throwing knives and the Horarian Short Sword which is magical.

Note that you have the captain captured, according to the Steward.

The storerooms have nothing notable.  Basic things you need to maintain the ship.  They are less full than you would expect, but you assume much of it was moved off the boat as they were unloading.  You saw nothing valuable or of note among the buildings are you waited that they might have unloaded.

Bonus xp for whoever posts a tale of what happened for Claude.
The scouting party was sly, noting everything by eye.
Messages were sent away, the Pride to arrive in less than a day.
The pirate ship docked, our attention was locked.
Crew and supplies brought to shore, our anticipation growing more and more.
Friendly boarding party arrives via stealth, not giving the pirates time to hide their wealth.
Giant croc goes crash, frightened Horarians go splash, Valdis' axe goes smash.
Fire breathing lizard, impaled innards.
Pirates overwhelmed, cowards flee the helm.
Captain captured, Chase's charms enrapture.
Nowhere to run and nowhere to hide, the pirate crew surrenders to the Pride.

So, how does our captain handle the confiscation of goods during a time of war?  Are we legally allowed to keep the magic items, coin, etc. we got from the other ship?  If so, how is it divided up?

How long before we reach Port Talp?

We need to interrogate the pirate captain for some answers on what they were up to on the island and why the prisoners were captured.  We'll need Rin as an interpreter, of course.

Is it safe to free the other prisoners?  Can Sasskra (sp?) provide any insight on who they are?
