A Meeting at Scalehome
« on: April 12, 2012, 09:54:58 PM »
After the departure of Claude and the dragonslayer; Haas, Roland, Grant, Shimi, and Saladien are allowed a coversation with the master of Scalehome.

This takes place two days after Claude has left.  In that time, you have all been given nice accommodations at an inn designed for visitors to the realm.  It is oft used for merchants.

Think of any questions you might have for the master.

A description of the Master might be helpful and how exactly we interact with him.

The meeting place is a dark grove of trees with a clearing for you to stand in while you talk with him.  There is one path into the clearing.  No sun directly reaches the area, although is is clear that it is sunny above the treeline.  Your guide tells you that the Master of Scalehome will speak to you from the trees and you will not see him.  He warns you not to enter the trees.

Can't find a campaign log to figure out where we left off...why are we in Scalehome? Can someone refresh my memory?

The original reason was twofold: one for Claude, one for Tyrogatore.

Claude was going to talk about dragons and his situation.  That was half taken care of with the battle, and then after Claude's discussion it ended with the Halfling Dragonslayer being released and allowed to train Claude as long as they hunted none of several color of dragons (those that typically live in Scalehome).  Claude then left with the dragonslayer.

As for the Tyrogatore reason, you hope that the great lizard has some insight into the plight of Tyrogatore in the Great Forest.  Grant, who has now met up with you again.  I believe through Sendings, has indicated that more of the great leaders of your faith have gone missing in the past two years, and all in the vicinity of the Great Forest

Specifically:
Bartlet Felltree, Graplore champion 675, has gone missing in the past six months
Hervaniori the Untouchable, Keeper of Wrestling and Boronk ek Korda, has been missing since he left to become high cleric years ago
Valizar, competitor in the Palumbton tournament, you know from your last visit to Habastalai, missing for over a year
Kellen Brownclaw, master of Emenotan, has gone missing in the past six months

In addition, Grant has been traveling the forest, and has noticed in a few, but not all or a lot, towns; the clerics of Tyrogatore have gone missing in a variety of ways, included sometimes dead.

We came here in response to an invitation from the Master of Scalehome, didn't we?

Side note, Haas does not refer to him as a "great lizard". That title is specifically reserved for Tyrogatore.

Haas casts a bunch of spells prior to the meeting, in addition to those he normally casts everyday. Cloak of Bravery, Mass Energy Resistance (acid), Owl's Wisdom

The guide fades back into the path from which you came.

The path becomes difficult, and then impossible to see.
