This thread should be used for non-magic item things you do in the city over the 6 months.

I want to start a training facility for new Sea Tenders at the temple of Lakius.  I use some of my funding to advertise and looks for someone to train them.  I will help for the first few months if I have time.

Would you like to hire someone to run the process?  A faithful clerical worker?  Advertising and evangelizing will be your obstacle.  The space at the temple and the cost you can manage.  This would be at the temple in Talp, not the high temple, correct?

Rin talks to the current cleric of the temple of tree top about the idea of adding a massive tank to attract followers in the existing temple.  No need to overshadow the existing temple.

Since the existing temple is near the water, I can just get a pump to cycle fresh water with the ocean itself.  With three backups...

clear steel makes everything easier.

one of the off days, Rin visits the compound that makes the clear steel and gets a quote.. Just the front panel needs to be clear, since I'm sure it's not cheap.  Say.. 30' by 50'

Don't you need a third dimension there?

The starting price is 50gc per square foot, but there are bulk discounts.

What can we learn about the eel-people in Port Talp? Might help us prepare.

Also, does anyone remeber anything about Lucien’s tactics?

Using your wealth, you send out feelers and look for a mentor.

The Retsunagi are a race of off white intelligent, human sized eels.  Even in the tolerant city of Port Talp, they are given a generally reputation and treated as a whole.  What you hear is:

  • they do not come into warm waters
  • they do not like the sunlight
  • they swarm around blood like sharks
  • they worships Dresta and the deities of evil
  • they use spells and magic
  • they have the tactics of animals, not thinking creatures
  • they are vampiric
  • they were not noted in the books of travelers until two or three hundred years ago

Would the Daylight spell cause them any harm?  I had that affixed to my armor to aid with vision underwater, but it would be a nice bonus if it can be used against these evil creatures.

The best answer you get is they avoid it.  No one is sure to what level (minus to hit or damage or what).

Is there anything in the way of Tfop inspired potions or powders that can prevent lycanthropy?

They do have a vaccine against lycanthropy.  The most common form lasts for a month and costs 3000gc.  It will not help if you have already contracted the disease.

You said the most common form, but do the rumors of these creatures hint towards a different strain of the disease?  Regardless, I think I'll purchase the common vaccine and hang onto it until we're ready to challenge these creatures.

Is there an incubation period or can I take it right before we encounter them for maximum coverage?  A month at sea really isn't much time, so I want my immune system tip-top before we fight these things.
