I'd say no based on the gc cost.

I agree but this is sad and I think we should still consider reevaluating the cost of the spells.  At least we could consider changing the ones in the PHB which are common .  Stoneskin is a staple spell and I can't even think of when it has been used by a PC.  I agree that the DM shouldn't be giving out gold like the rules suggest because it doesn't make sense from a roleplaying sense.  However, I think we should at least make exception then for some of the cost of the spells in the PHB.  Stone skin and the holy water spell come to mind off the top of my head.

I agree with this but also don't forget the house rule that clerics/devotees can use xp to cast domain spells at the magic item creation rate so that mitigates the cost considerably.

For this spell we need a physical resistance of some sort, the domain is weighted heavily towards defense against spells.

And clerics already have access to protection from good/evil, how about something different? Alarm?

I like Resilient Sphere at 4th.

Pro from Good / Evil is a staple of protection, I am hesitant to remove it.

I am not big on resilient sphere.  It is not meant to be used as a protection spell.  It is meant to be used to capture someone.  It doesn't even give the option to not make a save on the spell.  So the spell might not even work when you cast it on someone to protect them.  I know we have a house rule that says you choose to accept the spell but if it was meant for protection they would have put it in there I am pretty sure.  I will try to look for another option tomorrow if I get a chance so don't look it quite yet.

Agreed.  Is there a mass armor spell of some sort?

Iron Bones

(Ghostwalk)

Transmutation
Level: Cleric 4, Sorcerer 4, Wizard 4
Components: V, S, AF,
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: Touch
Target: Corporeal undead creature touched
Duration: 10 minutes/level
Saving Throw: Will negates (harmless)
Spell Resistance: Yes (harmless)

You cause the skeleton of the target to become thicker and as strong as iron.
This gives the target a +5 natural armor bonus to AC.
The spell has no effect on creatures that have no skeleton but works normally on creatures that have exoskeletons (such as insects).
Focus: A miniature skull carved of iron or steel.

This is a great spell but it only affects undead unless I'm reading it incorrectly.

"Target: Corporeal undead creature touched"

Would you allow this to be used on any creature?
