Eberron Campaign Setting has a "meditation" domain:

Granted Power: Once per day, you can cast one spell as though it had the Empower Spell feat applied to it. However, you cast the spell at its normal level, not at two levels higher, and use the normal casting time of the spell. You need not know the Empower Spell feat to use this ability.

I think Body Outside Body is good for this one.

Advice might work, but I think that spells that only effect the cleric are best suited for this domain.

That is essentially the 10th level Glory domain ability but even more powerful as it doesn't have an alignment restriction.

How about some sort of improved Sanctuary ability?  Allowed the cleric to activate a zone of protection around himself for a number of rounds equal to his cleric level.  We would then replace the 1st level domain spell.

Might I suggest something a bit different?  How about using a turn attempt to change someone's opinion/mood/aggression level one step closer to your side?  For example, someone hostile toward the cleric would need to make a save (probably willpower).  The DC could be based on Charisma and cleric levels such as the turning ability is.  If that person fails, they would become neutral.  Turn attempts could stack, so another successful attempt could turn the person friendly, then another to be completely on your side, etc.  Feats could be taken (such as "Extra Turning") that could apply to the ability.  Maybe call it "Persuasion" or something like that.  Thoughts?

It is a good idea, and we are using something very similar for the Corruption and Redemption domain powers.  One towards good, and the other towards evil.

I see 2 arguments about a conversation ability to neutral.  One is that since we have one for good and evil then why not for neutral.  My argument against the introspect domain having is that this is a big domain for the clerics of Laikus and the extremely introspective followers of Laikus care little about converting others to anything.  Either is acceptable IMO but I would maybe consider looking to see if this ability fits another domain and not use it for introspect domain.

The ability isn't intended to alter someone's alignment, just aid in making them see things your way.  It's opinion based, not alignment based.  When I said "neutral" earlier, I meant the hostile or disagreeable feelings someone may have had towards you lessen to a degree.  Each time you would "turn" someone, it would lessen the hostility more or make your arguments more convincing, eventually leading to a full-on change of temperament during that encounter assuming the turn attempts succeed.  Eventually the effects would wear off.   Plus, this adheres to the DM's wishes of having an ability that focuses on the cleric and not the group.

I don't like it only because it seems very other focused. I think the power should enhance the cleric internally. Such as a psionic defense or the ability to spend HP or ability points  to improve spells.

Granted Power thoughts:

- Mind Blank for one round per caster level per day, self only, swift action to activate

- Enhance Int, Wis, or Cha by a number of points equal to your cleric level.  May be split up between the three.  One turn to activate.  Lasts for one round per caster level.

- Use Turn attempt to activate a Sanctuary spell with a DC of 10+ caster level.

- Add Cha and Int modifiers to all saves to resist mental attacks / effects

Thoughts?

I like the last 2 also but the 3rd ability having a two ability score bonus could get out of hand.  I would suggest picking one of the ability scores only and maybe capping it at a +5 or I guess you can pick both ability scores and cap it at a +5.  A +5 bonus to all saves is very powerful.

So its definitely down to the last to abilities:

1 - Use Turn attempt to activate a Sanctuary spell with a DC of 10+ caster level.

2 - Add Cha and Int modifiers to all saves to resist mental attacks / effects

And so far the vote is 1-0 in favor of #2.

We probably need to define mental attack in order to get an idea if this save bonus will be too big.  I had the same concern Whitesword had about the bonus being too big.  I think it will end up being fine because it will be a limited area of attacks but we should define mental attack.

Astral Projection is OK, but what are people's thoughts on this for 9th level?

Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Personal
Target: You
Duration: Until expended or 10 min./level

Spells and spell-like effects that target you are absorbed, their energy stored to power spells of your own.

Absorption absorbs only ranged spells that have you as a target. Touch spells, effect spells, and area spells that affect you cannot be absorbed. Once the spell is cast, you can absorb 1d4+6 spell levels (rolled secretly by the DM). The level of each spell you absorb is subtracted from the total. If a spell is only partially absorbed (because its level exceeds the number of levels remaining to be absorbed), divide the number of spell levels left unabsorbed by the original spell level. For spells that deal damage, use the result to determine what fraction of the damage you take. For spells that create effects, use the result as a percentage chance to be affected.

For example, you have three spell levels of absorption remaining and are struck by dominate person (cast as a 5th-level spell). Absorption absorbs three levels of the spell, resulting in a 40% chance (2/5) that you will be affected normally.

If affected, any saving throw the spell allows you still applies. Likewise, if you're struck by disintegrate (cast as a 6th-level spell) with four levels of absorption remaining, two levels of the spell remain, and you take only 33% (2/6) of the damage you would normally take from the spell. You can use captured spell energy to cast any spell you know or have prepared, but spells so cast don't disappear from your list of prepared spells or count against the number of spells you can normally cast per day (so you so must keep a running total of spell levels absorbed and used).

The levels of spell energy you have stored must be equal to or greater than the level of the spell you want to cast, and you must have at hand (and expend) any material components required for the spell.

so is this Wis (the normal modifier) plus Int plus Cha? Or is it Int and Cha in place of Wis?  I think all three would be really excessive.

Good point.  Maybe this should be done a limited amount of times as an immediate action.  Maybe once a day in response to a mental attack.
