With Season 22 behind us, I will now plan for season 23 in January.
My current plan is the following:
January, while we definitely have everyone will be the return of Claude and the lead up to a Great Forest Dragonslayer campaign.
February, with Valdis departing and potential Windblade missing, will be the Wizards who got sent away. It will be a few sessions with only Hero, Terrorshard, Zunder, and Malchia.
March-April, without Valdis, depending on how the previous few sessions go, it will be a continued Wizards with everyone....OR....something else.
Season 23, the summer May-August, will be a return to either the Great Forest Dragonslayer campaign OR the rogue of Port Talp.

I was planning on being one at some point since I'm trying to use every race eventually. Do you have something specific in mind? They're pretty violent and don't play nicely with others, so unless we're all a pack of Gnolls traveling together, I'm not sure how they'd fair in the civilized world.

The two primary factors were player availability and timeline maintenance. For those of you without characters, there is an easy in that I will get to after designing the 5th edition playtest.

Not much has changed for our future plans. The player group has been stable now for a bit. The next questionable one would be summer 2016. Currently scheduled for the Fey War, but I am willing to change that if everyone would prefer something else.

For the record, I'm okay with whatever we play. I even have a character idea ready for the seafaring campaign if we decide to do that.

Straight from South Africa, Zunder votes for the Seas. This is more complex than I imagined, so we will do one of our voting matrixes to determine what we will do as the third part of next year to join the Plateau and the 5th edition Making History. Look for an email.

In the fastest vote we have ever had, the voting is complete. When Malchia voted last, there was the chance that we could have had a 4 way tie. But he did not pick that order.
To start off, of the 8 votes cast, there were 7 different orders (only Zunder and Windblade had the same).
Every campaign got at least 1 1st place and 1 4th place vote.
There was no clear winner, but there is a winner, and it is the Fey War. So we will be doing that, the only question that I have to decide is when.

Since it was so close, why not do all four campaigns? We could do two or three sessions of each unless you think that would be too much work for you to organize. Normally, I don't like splitting up seasons, but this feels different due to the overwhelming diversity in the voting.

The problem with doing more campaigns is my ability to prepare for that many. Right now, I have to prepare for 5th edition, plateau, and the Fey War. Preparing for more than that is beyond what I can do well.
That said, we could split it up more but the options would be limited. The gnolls I have ready for more and we could do as well. Both the seas and the rogues require a lot of prep and I could not do that as well as the Fey War.

That's a bummer. I'd rank Fey, Seas and Gnolls all above 5th Ed and Gnolls and Sea at least even with the Plateau.

If there is a desire out there to not do plateau and 5th, I will certainly listen. Based on conversations and feedback, I just don't think that is the case.

I am enjoying the Plateau and looking forward to my first chance to play test 5th edition. Although I would peronsally enjoy doing the Seas before the Plateau but the Plateau before the other campaigns.

Out of curiosity, what's the purpose behind a third trial of 5th edition? Don't get me wrong; I enjoy our play tests and think 5th edition has its merits, but by 2017 we'll have been "testing" it for 3 years. They may even have 6th edition by that point.

You are correct, I shouldn't call it trial. Let us say that under the assumption that we enjoy it enough to continue using the system for at least part of the time, that is the allotted slot for us to play it.

That would be great. As we have a full season to work with I’m going to spend the next week or so contemplating it based on the events of the SNAP. Resolving the last session on the boards would be ideal.
After we finish that up, it will very much depend on the direction the characters want to go.

I noticed as well. I was thinking the same thing as Malchia. With an outside chance of my favorite campaign idea of born under a different star but if I had to place money on it I would guess the Low Bar crew. Is there something else that was missed?

Perhaps a different time. Not saying you can't choose them, but since many prestige class/ race combos won't work, I think that would be too challenging.

I think you have to narrow the list to eliminate some that we have identified as NPC centric and/or too weak.

I agree with getting rid of certain classes. One other idea is let everyone have 3 choices or something so at least there is some choice with in the randomness but overall I like the idea.

I can probably make any day work as long as we get some advanced notice. Windblade, do you have a specific day in mind? I'm pretty sure Whitesword can't do Thursdays unless something changed over the pandemic years. Ideally, I'd like to have all players involved if possible.
