Taiji: “Are we certain Manlow was being controlled by this creature? Maybe he was somehow repressing it, and him leaving the Temple caused the abjuration to fail suddenly and release the tentacles?”

Also Taiji: “So what exactly is this pool? Is it just a big tub of normal water, or is it something special?”

Directed at Nathan, I guess.

Does Nathan have an answer to Taiji's questions?

I was also thinking that he might not have been necessarily possessed but he could have been holding it off in someone way and maybe after doing that for such a long time that he lost his memory. These questions will all be directed to the cleric and his acolytes.  Either way Nathan realizes that he most do something about this because this could be happening in many of the temples where there is a hermit in charge and people would be less likely to notice a cleric behaving strangely.

Typically a holy water pool, sometimes portal to plane of water in greater temples.  Nathan's answer.

Manlow chimes in, "It was not a permanent gate, but we have oft used it to summon."

Just a reminder, Real Rin or Re-Ri... is off at the Temple of Treetop.  I do teleport over as far as I can see from the crows nest, and walk down.

Just wondering if anything strange happens.. though no one pees in treetops pool.

I will send an email about your individual encounter at the temple of Treetop.

Nathan tries to find some time to speak to Sas so that Sas can convey to the constables that maybe there were no signs of strange behavior because he was more of a hermit and people would have been less likely to notice changes.

“Let me rephrase - maybe Manlow was acting like the plug in the drain. Once he moved, there was nothing holding the dark water back.”

"That's possible. Casters could tell us that, right?"
