Title: Counsil Meeting of 816
Post by: Asinjin on February 18, 2021, 02:47:47 PM
The official beginning of the 4th era is the Counsil meeting of 816.  Twenty five years after the last meeting where Melodi, The Collector, and Arsenal became members of the Counsil, elevated from quasi deity status.

This thread will detail the divine aftermath of that meeting as well as detail what happens at the meeting in 816.

To the best of my thinking and memory right now, everything told in story from this point on from me is post this meeting.

Melodi (the knowledge keeper, the song maker) (Neutral Good [neutral])

After finally accepting her role as a deity after centuries of turning down the role, Allanda, ascended to the Counsil with little fanfare in 791.

Her portfolio expanded after her ascension and grew to include: bards, music, learning, and art.  To a lesser extent: schools, beauty and knowledge.

Her religion was based in Icefia at the bardic college.  While it remains the traditional home, temples have appeared at the other places of higher education around the world and there is a friendly competition as to where the seat of power is located.

Melodi has no ambition and never directs her followers in a way that appears as if the religion is trying to claim other aspects.  Nonetheless, she has rivals and enemies.  Her rivals include Quan Yin (beauty, art); Smofarf and Celetal (learning, knowledge).

Her primary enemy is the God of Lost Knowledge for whom hers is one of only two religions, along with the Oldest Orc, whose clerics appear immune to GOLK's ability.  This means that with only rare exceptions, those are the only clerics that are aware of GOLK.

Adding to her power, her clerics gained access to the domains of Introspect, to go along with Beauty and Knowledge.

He time during the reign of Iott was spent making sure knowledge did not fall away from the world.  This was a danger due to Iott monopolizing it and then due to an angry population destroying wizardly knowledge afterwards.  Her shrines became beacons of information as the world grew separate when travel and magic were restricted.  Her clerics would go on missions for months at a time bringing the news of the world, often in song form, to backwaters and hidden places.  This made them a target in some places and heroes in others, sometimes both.

Her faith has grown forty fold in those years, numbering over half a million.  They maintain five temples and about fifty shrines around the world.  There are many clerics, but the vast majority are also bards and hence there are few powerful clerics.

The high cleric of the religion is Haskra in Icefia, who resides at the high temple in the Bardic College.

Before his disappearance in 815, her most notable follower was the esteemed and renowned Arcane Singer Luigi Wonderword.

She remains a Demi-god.

I am definitely glad to see Melodi on the council.  The Wizards 3 have been pushing that forever.  I am excited to play a cleric of hers in the 4 era.  I think she will be the primary goddess that Wignston worships now that she is on the council.

Sutyr (Lawful Evil)

Betraying the Counsil did not go well for Sutyr.  Not only did he abandon them the way Hemator did, but unlike Hemator, he worked against them instead of existing outside the Counsil.

This lead to a persecution by most of the Counsil powers and several of the cults.  He played a high risk high rewards game, and he lost.  The years between Counsil meetings went poorly for his religion.  Only his allegiance to Iott and Kallark allowed his faith to survive as long as it did.

There are no temples, only a few shrines, and the only faithful are recluses clinging to the past.

The most notable remaining member and by default high cleric is also the last known Flame Master, a fire giant named Fumarsk.  His survival has mostly to do with the exhaustion of those that had hunted Sutyr.  His whereabouts are unknown.

I will try to post the high cleric and the most notable follower.  More than one would lead down a rabbit hole that would lead to me not finishing this project.

Dedestroyt (Chaotic Neutral)

The religion of Dedestroyt remains as it has for two thousand years.  Divided by purposes of the those that destroy, those that oversee, and those the kill.  They remain in balance as they have.

All three sects were very active during the reign of Iott.  Iottians returned themselves from the dead often, leading to a great need for the slayers, who died in hirer number than usual in their attempts.  The overseers had to mourn and bury many dead.  During the plague times, more them those died than usual as well.

The plagues lead to an increase in devotion for the religion, as more and more people saw dead as a near reality and hoped that Dedestroyt would provide them protection in the next life.  The high cleric, Malcolm the Dread, died of Everhot.  He was replaced by Dedrict Vowslew of Thalmeret, a harsh man who despised Iott and lived in seclusion until the defeat of Kallark.  When he returned to the high temple in Thalmeret, he vocally called for Iott's destruction.

The only stalker of the dead to survive the reign of Iott was the longest lived and most powerful one, Vistrani Fell.  The elf remains the best known member of the religion.

Habastly (Neutral Good)

The religion of Habastly's role during the reign of Iott was much the same as it has been.  Looking to protect life and minimize war, the religion had a challenging task on its hands.

It had long been an enemy of unchecked technology, but now it had to place unchecked arcana on its list of concerns.  Iott learned from the Tinkocracy's mistake and did not antagonize the largest religion in the world.  Instead of ignoring its warnings, Iott and Lyla listened to the clerics and especially in the first five years did a lot to improve and protect life.

The religion was a strong opponent of Sutyr, even if it did not oppose Kallark vigorously.  As Quan Yin's prominence rose, the religion embraced her vocal efforts to increase health and reproduction.  The two religions aided one other more than ever before.

Shortly after the Day Magic Broke, the long-serving high cleric Harold Lastelm died.  Confirmed to be of natural causes, the man had served as high cleric for more than one hundred years, dating back to right after the end of the Tinkocracy.  Rumors were that magic that helped keep him alive was broken on that day, leading to his death.  He was replaced soon after by Tomas Greatforest, who was given credit for stemming even greater loss of life during the Great Forest War a decade before.

Traveling the world on horse, a now well known Warden of Nature haling from Southern Yellowia named Justin Welloper leads the charge against the new religion of Arsenal.  His efforts and notoriety were echoed by Iott until its fall, but he continues to travel and warn against the evils of technology and tinkers.

Treetop (Chaotic Good)

The guardian of creatures, the patron of rangers, the father of the elves was quiet during the reign of Iott.  No creature type was targeted by the Iottians, the plagues were a threat but again targeted no specific race or creature for extinction.

Treetops agents were always helpful in the effort to defeat Sutyr, but they were never the leaders of the crusade.

The drama within the religion came from its traditional home in the jungles and with the elves that live there.  Vavalikai Jungletree, the long time high cleric was deposed.  The religion around the world was disappointed by his lack of activity outside the jungle and his seemingly singular focus on protecting the jungle elves, even though it was his cousin, newly appointed king, who was the guardian of the jungle elven race.  The new high cleric was named, Serena Barkenvine, a half elven resident of the jungle that was known to travel and meet with animals guards around the world.  Her traveling court continues.

The rise of the Yinites inspired Horarians to expand their visions as they traveled the world and encountered more variety.  One example is the now well known guard of humanity and Treetop convert Sukura Onita'tsu who like the high cleric, travels the world checking on the humans of Habololy.  He is particularly focused on those that exploit plagues to increase their own wealth and power.

Compture (Neutral Evil)

Dedicated to change for the sake of change, the swings that occurred during the reign of Iott only served to increase the power of the deity.  By the end of the decades, more people than ever were convinced that change is the only constant in the world, and that Compture view of existence was the most accurate.  Even with that, Compture's following remains smaller than any other greater deity and smaller than some of lesser stature.  But change is ever present and lends power to the deity at every turn.

In a rare appearance, the high cleric Valen Tracenkall made a confirmed appearance during the Battle of Mount Ila'Alnar, where it aided the allies in defeating Sutyr and the Iottians.  The appearance has created a great deal of speculation and lead to a great deal of research among the religious scholars.  To the everyday person, it was simply notable and a good story.  Valen has not been seen or heard of since the battle, and some think Valen was killed during or because of the battle.

One of the surviving headmasters of Iott is now a known faithful member of Compture's religion, Jonathon the Changed.  A known shapechanger, he is believed to be able to replicate the powers and presence of any of the Iottians.  He is one of the few able to widely travel thanks to his ability to change shape and easily hide.

The Old Orc (Neutral Good)

Turmoil unseen since the times of Amat came to the religion during the reign of Iott.  Lyla's and her governor wielded a great amount of influence in the Empire.  Their influence chipped away at the religion in the empire.

The high cleric, Lukius, went missing and could not be found.  He was not dead, and the old rules of the empire prevented a permanent successor from being appointed.  The traditions that kept the empire so well organized worked against them.  Clerics vied for the role and for influence and command.  The emperor took interim control of the religion, which caused a backlash around the world.

Seizing the opportunity, the enemy of memory, the entity known as GOLK, went after the religion, seeing a rare chance to bring the mighty deity down a notch.  Attacks were made, but in the style of GOLK, were not known.  They had the desired effect.

As the religion veered towards a breakdown, with the first counsel ever to be held outside the empire in Jaswap scheduled, word came that Lukius had re-emerged.  He brought a brief respite to the religion.  He was called away, to deal with Sutyr once and for all.  This in itself was a problem, as non-intervention was a tenant of the faith.  While the most learned scholars of the religion understood the gravity of the situation, the less wise and educated clerics grumbled and so abandoned the religion.

Lukius never returned from the battle against Sutyr.  Had the Counsil meeting been held more than a year after his death, the repercussions may have been more dire.  As it was, The Old Orc's standing was not challenged.

There is still no high cleric.  The processes in place drag on and the newly appointed emperor has not been able to settle the situation.

With the death of Lodormus, former president of Pacyr, there are no well known clerics of The Old Orc.

If you count second edition then I know 2 people with 2.

Myself

Marina : briefly high cleric of Chaos in 2nd edition

Nathan: briefly high cleric of Lakius while playing (and then long time high cleric after I stopped playing him)

You:

Haas: high cleric of Tyragator

Natus: High cleric of collector

I don't think anyone else has had more than 2.

Gruweas (Lawful Evil)

The religion advocated strongly and allied with Kallark and Iott for a decade between 791 and 801.  The religion was almost inseparable from the Grean Republic in mission.

When Kallark transcended, the religion had a problem.  Cults were forbidden, but the interests of the Grean Republic lie with Iott and in turn, Kallark.  Things became more complex when long time ally quickly turned enemy when Sutyr left the Counsil.  The mental gymnastics the religious leaders had to do in the early 800s was mesmerizing.

The only solution was one that the religion did not like, decentralized decision based on nation and region.  Each temple had to decide what was in the best interest in their region.  It was a freedom that had rarely been given in the faith.

With the defeat of both Kallark and Sutyr, the religion called a counsel and within months before the Counsil Meeting of 816, declared a return to strict rules governing all temples.  They made recruitment of former faithful of both cults a top priority, as well as setting up missions in Iott.

The high cleric remains Petrik-Gar Chelthin, who lives in the Grean Republic.

Traveling to all the former strongholds of the dead cults, the human Teller Caulderon is a known evangelist, originally from Thalmeret.

Everentual (Neutral Neutral)

The religion suffered embarrassing defeats in the 780s.  Its tacit alliance with other faith to bring down the religions of Tyrogatore and Stasis failed.  Its inability to protect Hertoplowis from Iott when Lyla came to power were humiliating.  The severing of Falan, which brought the power of undeath into an open competition is theologically partially blamed on the judge of the soul, who is supposed to oversee such things.

After the assassination of high cleric Grant by Iott, the religion put forth Verten, called the Firm.  Unwavering, he survived twenty years, to his credit.  However, he lacked vision and charisma.  Simply holding on against the attacks of Iott were not enough.  Everentual hemorrhaged followers to Celetal, Tyrogatore, Kallark, Gruweas, and Han~Sui.

Because of this, Everentual was deemed worthy of demotion in 816 and made a demi-god.  His stronghold of followers in Hertoplowis diminished overnight and Verten was no longer Dayan of the nation.  Celetal took the reigns for the first time in 400 years.

Kyl Evenhand, a large human from Hertoplowis has been traveling the main continent for a decade seeking to improve Everentual's standing.  He seems to have foreseen the collapse and almost singlehandedly kept the deity in its old status by converting faithful outside of Hertoplowis.

Han~Sui (Lawful Neutral)

The religion of Han~Sui changed little during the reign of Iott.  It never lost focus on its role as defender and bringer of justice.  Because Iott, Kallark and Sutyr were all similarly aligned, those elements more often sought to win over and persuade the religion rather than battle it.  In places where Iott became the legitimate authority, it allied with Han~Sui.

Kallark and Sutyr, as cult and betrayer were prime targets for the faithful of Han~Sui pursuing cultists.  They had greater success against Sutyr and were responsible for ending his religion on the Destroytian peninsula, despite Iott's influence.

Darvin Collingson remained high cleric for the entirety of the time between the Counsil meetings of 791 and 816.  Now in his early 70s, he is highly respected in ever circle and believed to now be one of the most powerful high clerics in the world.  In the years when he would have retired or laid back, he fought against Sutyr.  In times when other high clerics dealt with internal strife or external threats, Darvin was able to focus on the tenants of the faith and expanding its influence.

Although young, Dar Nevarnius is a well known orcish Templar of Han~Sui.  He has became the figurehead for searching out Iottians and bringing the truth of their role to light.  Commissioned by Darvin to locate Iottian wizards responsible for war crimes, he travels the world with his band of Truthfinders.

Gnarion (Neutral Good)

No other religion oversaw the accomplishment of a goal the way that Gnarion's did.  Perserverence during the reign of Iott lead to freedom for much of the world from Iott's control.  Sutyr, the centuries long nemesis of Gnarion was defeated.  The faith of Gnarion celebrated these accomplishments and declared a jubilee year after Sutyr's death.

Getting to that point was a challenge.  While under constant assault from many quarters, Sutyr's faith focused on Gnarion as much as any other deity, since the two were opposites in ever way.  Because of this, Gnarion was not able to lay claim to many more faithful despite the ultimate success of the tenants of the religion.

Gnellana Firstice remains high cleric and continues her focus on creating a functioning theocracy in Gnarland.  Some in the faith are tired of her lead and see her guidance as a reason the religion did not expand as it could have in the wake of the defeat of Sutyr and Iott and during the reign of Iott, which was a useful foil.

While not a cleric, Kven Wegofar is a now famous warrior and faithful member of the religion that was a leader in the final attack on Sutyr's mountain that once and for all dismissed the deity from Habololy.

Lightstalker (Lawful Neutral [good])

After centuries living on the edge of deity status, Lightstalker's faith all but died out on the Counsil meeting of 816.

The severing proved the beginning of the end for the deity.  A fair portion of his faith were turned off by the duel existence of Falan.  With the undead portion of Falan's cut away, those faithful were now able to move into a religion completely opposed to the undead.  Likewise, some of his faith were attracted to the organized and powerful religion of Kallark, whose influence once he became a full deity extended for the first time to the Great Plateau.

It was also the lack of undead as a threat that removed a primary tenant of the faith: destruction of the undead.  What became of the entity known as Lightstalker is unknown, but his shrines and temples are shuttered and no clerics of power remain.

Greenfellow (Neutral Neutral)

The track to full deity status was interrupted just as it was about to reach the goal.  The forest was on the verge of falling under Greenfellow's control.  A few short decades and 816 would be the year when the dragon would become deity of the great forest, dragons, and fey.  The reign of Iott and the return of the Golden Mother stalled the progress.

The religion did little to aid or oppose Iott, Kallark, or Sutyr.

Greenfellow remains the most powerful individual quasi deity and his domain of scalehome undisputedly the most secure realm of any such entity.  Most believe that he could have transcended to the planes and taken the route to cult if he so chose.

The best known member of the faith is the voice of the nation of Scalehome, Giovanni Scalefriend.

For the first time, his high cleric has been seen outside of Scalehome, perhaps recognition that a new plan is needed to reach the dragon's goal.  Lixen is a dragon-winged fey of unknown background you is quite diplomatic in his travels.

Frostine (Neutral Evil)

The religion of Frostine was effected little by the reign of Iott.  The Iottians made few attempts to exert much influence over the chosen.  While the Frost Giant and Ice Gnomes were effected, their respect for and worship of Iott were not changed.

Sutyr betrayal let the religion go on a full offensive against the now cult faith.  Allied with Stasis and Gnarion and many other religions in the effort, Frostine's faith celebrated Sutyr's ultimate defeat.  That death dwindled the number of deity's that held fire in their faith to one, and since Sutyr's betrayal, none on the Counsil.  816 proved to be a very cold year around the world.

Enemies make strange bedfellows lead to the religion allying once again with Stasis in defending against a new cult in western Icefia that threaten not only Frostine's realm with the chosen but also infringed upon some of his portfolio of power.

The high cleric remains Farn Winterson, a chosen who has long resided in the frozen north of Icefia.

Better known and more feared is the Frost Giant Hestervandeffel.  An Inquisitor and Icebringer, he traveled the world after Sutyr's betrayal looking specifically for giant clerics and unholy warriors of the deity.  Whether hidden among the stone giants of the orcish empire, the hill giants of Yellowia, or in Baenrl itself, he found them out and drove his mighty ice spear through their heads.  Before returning to the String Mountains, it is said that he had a crate of nearly one hundred frozen giant heads.

After the Counsil meeting in 816, he is said to have set off on a new quest.

Dresta (Neutral Evil)

The goddess of the moon and her religion did and changed little during the reign of Iott.  Her faithful were not the target of any plot or attacks outside of Icefia where a persecution began after Sutyr's betrayal.

The high cleric remains the beautiful half-elf Pennia DeKaterine, who has spent a fair amount of time in the Great Forest where a good number of unseelie have joined the religion.

Arsur'Anyodel (Chaotic Good)

Similar to her sister of the moon, Arsur'Anyodel  and her religion changed little in the years between Counsil meetings.  It was not a target of Iott's and it did not take on a prime role in either the defeat of Iott or Sutyr.

The high cleric is Atiana Darkgale, a Yellowian who resides at the Temple of the First Beam in the hills near the kingdom.  She has been the high cleric for four decades and travels little in her old age.

After the end of the Great Forest War, the Nightingale Larysa, a halfling that had helped protect the forest during the war and a long time hero left for other lands.  In these years she became one of the best known heroes of the world.  With most focused on Iott and the great problems, she remained focused on smaller issues.  She spent a notable amount of time in Icefia, Kathwo-tio-Horari, and Ekarude before heading to Yellowia.

Dourvan (Lawful Neutral [good])

The longtime quasi deity had a resurgence of notoriety after his role in the final defeat of Sutyr.  His time before that in the increasingly isolated nation of Pacyr was on a slow decline.  Before the battle, he had not been seen in over a century and some worried that he had died or faded from the world.

The truth became known after the battle.  Lyla had been laying claim to the portfolio of planning and strategy.  Her efforts had been so successful that Dourvan was weakening.  Pacyr's isolation meant that his faithful could not travel.  Iott's agents around the world had secretly and slowly killed off his clerics in other nations.

The military schools of the Orcish Empire, the Destroytian Republic, the Kingdom of Icefia and Thalmeret managed to maintain the faith barely in those years.  In the Grean Republic, Iott managed to completely cleanse the faith of Dourvan.

The high cleric is Klaror Farmountain, who now freed from Iott's dominance is putting together a plan to rebuild the religion.

Although not well known, the most powerful agent of Dourvan is the Grandmaster of the Knight of the Lord Protector.  Erik Mantel fought to defend Pacyr from Iott's attacks for decades and succeeded in preventing Iott from taking control of any significant areas of the nation.  A human now in his 70's, Erik will soon retire.

After surviving trials for a decade due to the plot against the religion by numerous others, Tyrogatore came out the other side needing to rebuild.  Under the guidance of high cleric Haas Tuskenhammer, the religion did rebuild.

Smofarf (Neutral Good)

For more than two decades, the religion of Smofarf performed a balancing act as the power and reputation of magic waxed and waned.  Caught between the nations for which the religion was most aligned; the Dwarven Kingdom and Iott, and an ideology that did not quite match the religions.  Faced with a beloved apprentice that had turned cultist.  The destruction of the circle of magic at once weakened arcane magic and yet made the clerics of Smofarf more valuable and in demand.

Through all of it, the religion never lost too much influence or many followers.  Iott and Kallark would shoulder the blame far more than Smofarf.  The dwarven kingdom viewed the faith as having calmly guided it through a turbulent time.  The other religions were wary to alienate the god of magic when magic was ascendant, and then wary when magic was at a premium.

Only in the days after Kallark's death did the leaders of the religion grew nervous.  The backlash that began could do great harm to the faith and to trust in arcana.  Despite his efforts, Smofarf could not prevent the surge of anti-arcanist sentiment that swept into the Counsil meeting of 816.

Upon the death of Kallark, the religion took a strategic move.  The long time high cleric, Hothmur Mountainmagic, stepped down.  In his place a cleric who was more a crafter than arcanist came to lead the religion.  Although the move was approved by almost all the clerics, the choice was not.  Toomes Stonespell was widely considered the greatest crafting cleric in the mountains and specialized in the construction of kegs, mugs and the like; but he was not of clan Mountainmagic.  The conclave have the honor instead to Koris Mountainmagic, a crafter of statues.

The current ruler of Iott and longtime Theurge of the nation is Mikael Targarten, a cleric of Smofarf.  He has the unenviable job of leading a hated nation.

Korekuta (The Collector) (Chaotic [neutral] Neutral)

The entity known as the collector rose from obscurity to the rank of demi power in near record time.  With arcana and magic on the rise, it quickly gained a following.  Travel and trade were prominent in the early days of Iott's reign.  Magic was everywhere in the days leading up to the Collector's ascension and permeated all facets of life in the early 790's.  It was a perfect brew for the Collector's rise.

Beginning in Port Talp, it spread through seafaring trade sailor's stories.  The herald of The Collector went to all corners armed with items for trade and word of his patron.  Iott supported the use of everyday arcana to improve lives and promoted the Collector as a way to distribute those basic items.  Aided by a Counsil the seemed more helpful than usual when it came to new powers, the religion had one of the smoothest rises a scholar could remember.  Only Nomagrok wouldn't allow the faith into its borders.

The years of Iott's reign were good ones, as were the years of Iott's decline.  Few blamed the Collector for hard times, since the faith was explicitly not interested in politics or power over others in the way Iott was.  It declared no rules or laws about items and was willing to trade any regardless of what the item did.  It only obeyed local laws that it could not avoid and opened spoke against, without taking action against, laws which in anyway restricted trade or magic items.

The faith came into a rivalry with Tommimao, both expressing similar tenants of faith in like of travel and society open to the use of anything.  Its biggest opponent was Drunnbar, but numerous others were not fond of the new religion.  Seeking to build bridges, the religion took a turn and a chance near the end of the Reign of Iott.  In 814, it began to arm the enemies of Iott, Kallark, and Sutyr.  With the collection of magic items it had amassed, it was able to tip the scales in several major encounters as the Reign came to an end.  Most notably at the Sutyr's last stand, the Battle of Mount Ila'Alnar.

There are now two dozen shrines and two temples to Korekuta.  His agents travel the world with items to trade.  High Cleric Natsu is known to all merchant companies of any note.  The Herald, now a Nipit named Malchia, is known to make the most important and largest trades and acquisitions.

LaVash'Ki (Chaotic Neutral)

The religion was dealt a heavy blow at the beginning of the Reign of Iott when the Iottians devastated the pirate fleet that was blockading the Destroyian Republic.  Lyla followed that up by orchestrating the separation of the Shelleshe from Kathow-tio-Horari.  The Grean Navy reasserted itself, further restricting pirates of all types.  The elevation of the Collector and the arrival of the quasi deity Ritvali added more challenges to the religion.

For more than a decade, the religion tried to set up a new theocracy of pirates in the isles, but it failed.  The return of the rule of the Golden Mother was another blow, as the dragons that had once been willing to trade with the pirates now refused.  In Ekarude, a tower appeared they seemed to be the home of ancient Horarians, who were not fond of pirates.

All of this meant that LaVash'Ki was nearing dissolution going into the Counsil meeting of 816.  The death of Kallark offered a last chance to maintain relevance.  The high cleric was strung up and blamed as the scape goat for the debacles of the last twenty years.  The new high cleric, Admiral Izika Dramuri was a strange fellow with reptilian eyes and forked tongue to go along with his Horarian features.

The best known faithful member of the religion is the only pirate of note that has survived the last thirty years.  Cillian The Quick Gale was a one time corsair, but always embraced Lavash'Ki.  Unlike others, he stayed with his faith and was declared a pirate.  He avoided capture for twenty years until Iott's fall when he was able to be aggressive again.

Tommimao (Chaotic Good [neutral])

The religion of Tommimao suffered greatly during the Reign of Iott.  The Iottians advocated for magical travel, at odds with Tommimao.  They sought arcane methods of pathfinding, not the traditional mundane ones used by the faith.  They were rigid in their thinking and strict in their laws, all the opposite of what Tommimao's faith believed.  Most damaging, they created situations in which the clerics of Tommimao could not help but try to intervene.

Perhaps it was only the lack of organization that allowed the religion to survive at all.  Iott would look for temples and large gatherings to destroy, and they were not to be found.  Lyla would have a high cleric killed, and another would pop up swiftly.  There was no nation to which the religion was attached that could be taken over by Iott.

While the clerics suffered, the tenants of the religion flourished.  Those that hated Iott's reign had several options, all of which could lead to Tommimao.  The first was two flee and hide, which required travel and exploration.  The second was to intervene in Iott's agenda.  The third was to get inebriated.

The current high cleric is Jeff Alonvere.  Likely the least powerful high cleric in the world.  He is known to always be high, either on pipeweed or on his magical metal clicking wings.

Although retired, the most famous current Pathfinder is Piper Gnoteway, the ice gnome credited with finding the best paths across the northern ice cap.

I got a little out of order with these, so bare with me.  The main one was Everentual, who I should have kept until later, seeing as his status is changing.

The cults could have all been done first, since they are unaffected by the Counsil's votes.  But at least they are all done now.

Then all of the deities who were not changing either because they were quasi deities not up for vote or because there were no effects in the 25 years that could have made them more or less powerful.

Next should have been the quasi deities up for a vote, and then finally existing deities that may have a status change.

Once I am done, I will go back and put the ones currently out of order, into order for a better reading experience.

The Counsil meeting of 816 opened with great rejoicing and relief.  The call to order involved a great deal of self-congratulating and praise for the structure that had survived another great threat.  Although not all members were as excited, none could deny that things had worked out.  Habololy had survived and was ready to recover from a challenging and harrowing time.

The newest members of the Counsil who had been elevated at the last meeting in 796, were given a chance to speak.  Arsenal was given the floor first.  He spoke of the importance of technology and the role it played in the world’s survival and the need for its expansion going forward.  It his logical, unemotional way, he advocated for elevation.  Korekuta, formerly known as The Collector, spoke next.  The creature thanked the Counsil for its place and talked of how its religion had played an important part in the survival of Habololy and the defeat of Sutyr.  It praised the wisdom of those that chose to elevate him at the last meeting.  Melodi spoke last of the three.  Subdued, she spoke about the greatest evil the world faced, one that had not been dealt with, and the main reason she agreed to join this Counsil.

Now the floor was open to any of the other deities.

(There are lots of fancy talks given here, but seeing as how none of you have characters there and I don’t have all the time in the world, I am going to cop-out and not post them in long form at this time.)

The time came to address the quasi deities up for elevation to the Counsil.

It was noted in the Counsil records that the quasi deities Korda, Ritvali, and Tepfershot have still not reached a level of prominence that they will receive a vote by the Counsil.

The existence of several other deities was mentioned in the record officially.  The upper planar faith of Avoreen had been spotted in both Icefia and the Great Forest.  The fey deities Emmantiensien and Fionnghuala were also both noted as now worshipped by enough fey that they must be watched.  Two draconic quasi deities were also mentioned, one an agent of the lower planar power Nilhas’Anor, the other the long-time master of the Forgotten Island.  Finally, the record noted the existence of a dark giant quasi deity that had recently found its way to Habololy and set up a home in the String Mountains.

The record for a brief moment mentioned the existence of a cult that has reportedly been on Habololy for…but only Melodi and the Old Orc remember anymore.

Mouser came up first for a vote.  The last time, the vote went against him 6-16.  As usual, Stasis and Falan spoke on his behalf.  The voices against him from Tommimao, Lavash’ki, and Korekuta.  In a difficult spot, as the deities of Chaos did not want another lawful agent and many of the lawful deities did not want competition, Mouser’s vote did not go his way.  But the vote was close, as the allies of Stasis rallied to double Mouser’s vote total from last time, getting him to a narrow 12-13 loss.

Baekodacalges, underdark lord of shapechangers, sorcerers and hopeful replacement for the spider queen was up next for a vote.  The last vote had gone against the deity 4-18 and the latest vote fared no better for it, going 5-20 against its elevation.

Having gotten the votes for the two unentangle with the rest out of the way, there came great discussion going forward of what to do.  The was no escaping the skeletal, burning, anti-magic and clicking elephants in the room.  The Counsil was in need of powers to take up those.  Without a deity of undeath, it would surely fall to a cult before the next meeting in twenty-five years.  There was now no deity of fire on the Counsil, and no one wanted Wandle’s power expanded, as she was the only cult of fire.  There was also fear that Vishtoo would claim the mantle of fire, regardless of what actions the Counsil took.  Then there was technology.  It had exploded to the point where none could escape the need to have another Counsil deity matched to it, unless the were to expand Arsenal’s power, something few were inclined to do.

A grand bargain began to be made, one that would involve deities of varied alignments and interests.

Several blocks formed of deities formed.  The Counsil had seen this behavior before, but not since the end of Tinkocracy and the death of Highlander.  When mortal events occurred on such a grand scale that the deities were compelled to make changes, such conferences had formed.  The only deity that was assured to come out of the meeting happy was Compture, since a large change was guaranteed.

The first block that formed was the classic one of the creators: Habastly, Lakius, Smofarf and Treetop.  As often happened, Dedestroyt joined them.

The next block was ostensibly led by Stasis, since he was seen as the deity of leadership, nobility, and kings.  It included Gnarion, Falan, Tfop, Arsur’Anyodel, and Quan Yin.  In the past, Quan Yin had been quieter, but the activities of her faith had ramped up in the past twenty-five years and she was more active.  Melodi was assumed to be part of this block, but she rarely spoke and her disinterest was matched only by her dedication to the prevention of the loss of knowledge.

The third block were the agitators, who were always looking for change, diversity and either freedom or chaos depending on point of view.  This group was led by Compture and included LaVash’ki, Tommimao, and The Collector.

The judges and organizers, who in eras past had not voted, now formed their own block.  Tyrogaotre, Everentual, Celetal, Gruweas and Han~Sui were now joined by Arsenal.

Dresta and Frostine were left on their own.

I love this!  I think I need to create a cleric or prominent worshiper in each block.  Wignston will be in the Statis lead block since he is a ranger that worships Melodi and his main goal is to increase knowledge in the world.

Many things had to be decided, all involved with which deity should powers be invested.  Each block had their own take.  Stasis’ group, purists with some practicality sought the solution that kept any questionable powers off of the Counsil and give advancement to existing deities that were deserving.

The creators were not far from this position, but added a level more of practicality based on their long tenure and experience.  They were more stuck to the traditions of the Counsil and still bore some hesitancy towards planar powers being allowed on the Counsil.  All of those that did were part of Stasis’ block and that gave the creators pause.

The agitators wanted to add more deities and ensure the existing powers did not gain more leverage, unless it was one of them.

The organizers looked to keep a balance first.

Seeing that the decisions of advancement and demotion along with the possible elevation of numerous quasi deities individually might descend into chaos, the Oldest Orc suggested that the Counsil take the collection together in one vote, and omnibus package of deification.  That debate took some time, until it became clear to most deities that the method was the best way to not have grudges held threat may spill over into the mortal world for decades.  Only Tommimao voted against the plan.

Technology had advanced and become more popular since Arsenal’s ascension.  The deities recognized that either he would advance or one of the other deities would take up technology or one of the quasi deities would have to ascend.  There was some fear that a cult would arise, but as this fear was greater with other spheres of influence, the group decided not to give it much consideration when it came to technology.  As part of the grand bargain, it was agreed that they would allow deities to vie for the sphere in the coming years.  Zeist and Lansin would not be elevated, nor would Arsenal.  Adding to them, Falan and the not up for vote quasi deity Tepfershot would all have the chance to make their case in the coming years.  This was generally seen as a win for celestial group, a loss for the organizers and the agitators, and the creators were ambivalent.

What came next was the great concern over the rise of Drunnbar and the wave of anti-magic sentiment that was sweeping the world.  Fears were high that Alarault would join him and the two-cult alliance would be a true challenge.  Looking to stem that stream of faithful joining Drunnbar and leaving Counsil powers and also the prevent another cult that could easily rise, a proposal to elevate Alarault to the Counsil as the deity of anti-magic, berserkers, violence, rage, and anger was added to the grand bargain.  The celestial group did not like this as a whole and some vowed to vote against the whole bargain because of it.  The organizers were content, the agitators happy, and the creators accepting.

What came next was far even worse for the celestial block.  Using the same logic, the proposal to ascend Vestilion to take the mantles of fire and undeath was made.  The celestial block refused to accept this and now as a whole vowed to vote against the bargain; although some were more vocal than others, waiting to see as they knew would happen what else was coming.  Again, the organizers were content, the agitators happy, and the creators accepting.  Surprisingly, Frostine did not oppose this part of the bargain.  Most assumed that he understood fire could not be wiped out of the world and this was the best option for him, as deity close in alignment and beholden to the Counsil.

As with all bargains, the give then turned into the take.  The discussion turned to the events of the past few years and where those events had caused such change that deities were affected.  The splitting of Kathow-tio-Horari and the plagues had lead Quan Yin faith to a transformation.  Now traveling the world and somewhat less utterly pacifistic, they oversaw a population boom unlike Habololy had ever seen.  Circumstances lent help to them as Iott’s reign was overall peaceful and safe in the beginning, Hemator’s withdraw, and the lack of pirate influence meant the Yinites had to change a bit.  For all those reasons, Quan Yin was granted an advancement from Demi to Lesser deity.  A clear win for the celestial block.  The creators were happy, the agitators annoyed and the organizers content.

The defeat of Kallark had been a long shot effort that few believed would succeed.  The fact that the underdog group of heroes lead by a cleric of Tfop won the day was not lost in the tales and stories around the world.  Again, Tfop can proved the power of hope, courage, and luck.  On top of that, alchemy had advanced in the world with the rise of technology and the wavering of traditional magic.  For those reasons, Tfop was proposed to be advanced from lesser deity to greater deity.  This was another win for the celestial block, and their steadfast opposition to the bargain began to wavier.  The organizers grumbled, the agitators were intrigued and the creators content.

The defeat of Sutyr was made possible by many, but the story told most often was that Dourvan had emerged from a long slumber to lead the gathered forces of Habololy in a plan that won the day.  He had outplayed the mastermind Lyla.  To balance Alarault, to drain possible faithful from the cults of Drunnbar and Hemator, to reward Dourvan, and to block Lyla; Dourvan would be elevated.  The celestial block was pleased, the organizers happy, the creators content, and the agitators were now the ones up in arms.

The grand bargain complete, the deities voted on it.  The vote was overwhelming in favor, with the only holdouts being several members of the celestial faction and Lavash’Ki.

Before the Counsil adjourned, Frostine made a motion for another consideration.  Calling out the creators for holding too much power as usual, he demanded that Lakius be considered again for demotion.  The deity’s religion had fought and been split during the last two decades.  They had done little to aid against Kallark and Sutyr.  The seas continued to drain, their seclusion had nearly led to invasion from the sea, in the form od Dagon, and in the air, in the form of Stronmus.  Even the new direction seemed to correct that mistake, the deity still laid claim to spheres of influence that it had clearly abandoned in its new form.  Lavash’Ki seconded the motion and the vote was held.

For the 2nd meeting in a row, Lakius faced the threat of demotion.  Having maintained his power in a close vote 25 years ago, he did not hold on this time and 13 of 24 voted to reduce his power.

That having happened, the Counsil then considered Celetal.  Had it not been in deference to the long-time creator, it would have happened already during the meeting.  Psionics had been on the rise since magic’s decline.  Everentual’s demotion had led many to Celetal’s religion, along with the rule of Hertoplowis for the first time in over 400 years.  Lakius would no longer be the patron of hermits and solitude.  The vote was a tie, and the Oldest Orc broke the tie in favor of Celetal.

With that, the Counsil meeting ended.

Stasis (Lawful Good)

Stasis emerged from period between Counsil meetings somewhat stronger. Weakened by the plot against his followers in the 780’s, Stasis gained ground during Iott’s reign as the Kingdom of Icefia never yielded. His followers led the crusade against Sutyr and the other evil powers. Only the losses suffered in those efforts slowed Stasis from advancing in power.   The battles against the evil powers further strengthened the bonds between Stasis and Arsur’anyodel and Gnarion, and their churches.   Falan and Hemator’s absence from major events weakened the relationships among the churches but not the powers.

Aesculos Thanos remains Stasis’ most powerful servant, followed by Nisoru Metakae, but both are aging and it remains to be seen who will take their place as the champions of the power of heroes. The high cleric is Michael Steelsmyth, who is now also his most powerful active cleric.

Stasis remains a lesser power.

This is going to be some harsh criticism but I think it is warranted.

Between this and the stealing of the Guardian.  It real seems like everything we did in the Seas and with Nathan did not even matter and then the voting in post snap 2 didn't even matter.  Nathan did everything to in his power to make changes to the religion which seemed to be successful based on everything you told me.  Then before I even get to play in a world where those changes matter everything is reversed in this vote.  I really would like you to reconsider this because it really takes away from the changes in the world that you say our characters can make it.

One more thing I don't quite understand is exactly how followers affects your status as a god. I will use Lakius as an example but I am sure there are other examples.  You need lots of followers to become a Quasi deity.  Then as your followers grow so those your influence.  The counsil notices you and votes you on.  That all makes sense.  I also understand how having little bit of followers but a strong influence over things such as Compture allows him to stay as a higher ranking deity.  What I don't understand or better yet disagree with is that when you have a certain amount of followers the counsil shouldn't be able to demote you just based on a vote.  So I am going to assume Lakius followers increased based on all the story line around Nathan.  So if you followers are increasing you power should grow and you shouldn't be able to be demote by the counsil because if this happens to often then followers become much less important and makes influence the most important thing in becoming and staying a high ranking deity.  If follower matter less then this just changes everything I thought I knew about Habololy for the past 30 years.

Here is a feel for how things work as it pertains to the deities:

On Habololy there are advantages and disadvantages to being a counsil or cult power. For cult powers your divine rank/category is strictly a measure of your following and control over your area of influence. Nothing else affects the power’s status. The downside is, as Sutyr and Chaos just found out, if the Counsil decides they’ve had enough they will band together and wipe you out, so not only do you lose status, you might end up floating on the Astral Plane.

Powers on the Counsil don’t have to worry about that issue (in theory, see Stasis and Tyrogatore’s recent experience). Counsil powers can lose status in two ways- if something happens to their following (Falan cut about 25% of his loose) and/or if the other powers decide another power has left behind part of their portfolio without replacing it with something else. This means a power can be demoted even if their flock remains constant.

In theory, if the demotion doesn’t match the power’s actual rank, they could become a cult and immediately return to their prior rank. This was essentially what Hemator did in 2nd Era when the powers refused to promote her multiple times. But then the whole crusade issue arises again.

So I am going to assume Lakius followers increased based on all the story line around Nathan.

This is not a correct assumption.  When it became clear that Nathan's sect of the religion was ascendant, and that the deity Lakius approved of this vision, many of the clerics who were hermits or who had struggled against Nathan, lost faith and converted to someone else.  Celetal and the Oldest Orc being the two most common destinations.  Once there, those clerics actively sought to recruit faithful of Lakius.

Additionally, in the turmoil of those years, Lavash'ki and Tommimao went hard for sailors and others members of the religion who were put off by the struggle.

Your changes were very impactful and will be seen.  You reversed the long downward trend of the religion of one of the creator deities and set it on a path to restoration of what Lakius was close to at the origin of the world.  The whole perception of clerics of Lakius in the 4th era will be different from the 3rd era.

Alarault (Chaotic Neutral)

What appeared at first to possibly be the end of Alarault turned out to be the greatest gift his religion could have received.  The rise of Iott included their efforts to destroy Nomagrok.  While his ancestor Drunnbar had the advantage of organization and kingdom to protect it, Alarault had little of that.  The only thing that protected his faithful was that they were disorganized enough that Iott could not delivery a fatal blow to the faith.

The Day Magic was Broken was cheered mightily by Alarault and his followers.  They had been minimally involved in the planning for the day, for Gneon did not trust the chaotic nature of the quasi deity and his followers.  Those that were almost all died in the distraction attacks.  Scholars thought the five years of persecution and tragic day might be the end of Alarault.

The next two decades did not see the winding down and disillusion of the faith, but its rapid increase.  Many had grown to hate arcane magic, but a long standing fear or dislike of cults, or an alignment disagreement kept them from Drunnbar.  This was especially true of barbarians and humanoids.  Borkondof became home to a temple, and shrines popped up in the Frozensky Forest and the Yellowian Hills.

When the Counsil met in 816, there was some hope among the more sophisticated members of the faith that he might gain a seat on the Counsil.  In anticipation for this, the lead clerics had distanced themselves from Drunnbar and parleyed with clerics of Compture, Dedestroyt and Tommimao.  They also staged attacks on the cults of Corahakar and Loomashyn in the underdark.  It worked, and Alarault was a Counsil member.

The long time high cleric, Graid 6th Sledgehammer, lives in the Feral Valley in Nomagrok.  The Sledgehammer dwarves that live above ground have gravitated towards Alarault.

The best known member of the faith is the bugbear Atek Fiercebreath.  After the defeat of Kallark, he led raids whenever he could against Iottian camps and keeps on the main continent.  Once there were no more evident, he moved to the coast, where he is camped with other of like mind in hopes and invaded Iott.

Tfop (Neutral [chaotic] Good)

The religion of Tfop was strong during the time of Iott. Alchemy grew in importance.  The underdogs won in the end against Kallark and Iott.  Tfop's long held beliefs about the status and deities was proven correct when Sutyr betrayed the Counsil.  Port Talp was allied with Iott for a long time and benefitted from that relationship, suffering little from the backlash against magic after Iott fell.

The high cleric was appointed within the past year after Tobin Rockwell died.  The elderly and respected high cleric appointed Brendan Wiskwell, former head alchemist of Iott as his replacement.  The move was looked upon with horror and many thought Iott had wormed its way into the faith.  However, Tobin played upon the value of forgiveness and redemption and promised that Brendan would be true to Tfop and a great high cleric.

The best known followers of Tfop are Claude and Ari, who have not been seen since the defeat of Kallark and are known to have traveled to the planes to defeat him.

What exactly are Tfop long held beliefs.  Just curious.

He is not a fan of the Counsil system.  He thinks deities should be free to up and down come and go and allowed to make their home on the outer planes.

Listed as CG in the Habololy Handbook. Tfop also has feyalin (CG paladin, like Ari), which means he should be CG.

Change in alignment = no more Tfop feyalin?

Correct me if I am wrong but I thought it was based on the alignment of the followerand not just the god (obviously as long the alignments aren't too far apart)  So a neutral good god could have a chaotic good follower who is a Feyalin.

That is the rule of thumb, and a character cannot be one unless the deity allows it.  Tfop would not have a templar and his allowance of Feyalin is a throwback to when his faith was a bit more chaotic.

Habastly, Smofarf, etc cannot and would not have Feyalin.  Falan, Treetop, etc would not and cannot have templars.

Quan Yin (Lawful Good)

The religion of Quan Tin began to change before the Counsil Meeting of 791.  When Iott joined the war between the Shelleshe and Destroyt, they annihilated a pirate fleet and removed the veil from the eyes of the rest of Kathow-tio-Horari.  Shortly after, the nation split and Quan Yin and her religion began a migration from reclusive pacifism.  What was for a long time an internal Theocracy with a pirate shell became a through and through theocracy.

This form did not last long.  The Horarians realized after a few years that the freedom that was required to exist with the world without the pirates as a go between would require a different governmental style.  A queen, appointed by the religion, would rule the government.  The high cleric was then free to focus on expanding the faith and evolve the religion.

The plagues offered the chance for the religion to spread as it healed and cured fearlessly.  The Iottian reign offered the religion a chance to spread its message of peace and love in the face of tyranny and war.

The elevation of Quan Yin in 816 was not a surprise to any mindful cleric.  No religion had spread more between meetings, except perhaps Kallark's before it was destroyed.  No deity had transformed more than Quan Yin by adding a variety of aspects.

The high cleric is Yukora, the mother of five and expert gardener.  She has been high cleric for twenty years and is now in her mid fifties.  She is constantly visited and never leaves the high temple.

The best known member of the faith is considered mythical by many.  A fey convert to the faith, Esterlina'rey is said to visit those that are sick with plague or unable to conceive and bless them in Quan Yin's name.  The fey is credited with converting thousands to the religion by granting these miracle blessings all over the main continent.

One aspect that grew dramatically during the reign of Iott and has not been cornered by a deity is that of Orphans.  The plagues and wars combined with a spike in births during the 790s has lead to more orphans than the world has ever seen.

A variety of deities compete to claim the mantle of parent to all orphans.  Quan Yin, Tyrogatore, Tfop, Corahakar and Wandle are all noted near the top of the list.

Celetal (Neutral Neutral)

The religion of Celetal was the beneficiary of circumstances that lead to her advancement.  The splintering of Lakius faith lead those they revered solitude and hermitage to leave his faith.  Many of those became worshipers of Celetal.  Everentual's religion, floundering after its failed plot against Tyrogatore and Stasis, reeled further when its leadership did not prevent Iott from defeating Hertoplowis.  For the first time in hundreds of years, Celetal's religion took the first seat in the nation.

Iott's rise lead many to distrust magic.  Some of those, fled to Celetal's faith, hoping that psionics could protect them.  Similarly, when magic began to fail, some turned to psionics.  In addition to faithful turning to the worship of Celetal as magic failed, the world in general needed psionics more.  The overall use and notoriety of it aided Celetal's as the world's only known deity of psionics.

All of those factors lead to Celetal's elevation on the Counsil, the judge of the mind and risen up to equal the judge of the body in status.

The high cleric up until the recent change in leadership of Hertoplowis was Ugenna Shallon, who lives a hermit's life and was responsible for calling many former faithful of Lakius to Celetal.  Although still alive, she would not leave her monastery for Hertoplowis and the role was taken from her.  The new high cleric is also not the ranking cleric of Hertoplowis, who turned down the role.  The honor was given to Germur Ferdenlu, the crystal dwarf high cleric of Celetal.  Over two hundred years old and as devout as any cleric, he had spent many years in the underdark and in Hertoplowis.

Arsenal (Neutral Neutral)

The faith of Arsenal was large before the Counsil meeting of 791.  It was only the tentativeness of the Counsil that had held him back to that point.  Realizing that he would almost certainly transcend to the planes if they denied him again, the Counsil agreed to give him a seat.  His religion grew greatly once he was on the Counsil, and many thought they would have to elevate him again in 816.  He was not elevated, and the battle for who else will claim a part of the technology portfolio continues.

Although he does not like arcane magic, Arsenal is not an emotional deity.  Crusades and vengeance are not in his nature.  His faithful advocate for technology, but avoid the mistakes of their Tinkocracy predecessors.  Iott has given them enough talking points that they do not need to create their own or press the issue.  The religion focuses on creating clickers that make life better and advocating how they are better than magic, especially arcane magic.

The high temple of Arsenal is on the Great Plateau was placed in Tenewton.  It was chosen because the city was suffering economically and the high temple and notoriety brought by it have revitalized the city.  It was chosen to demonstrate that Arsenal is not Highlander, and the temple was not placed in the city of Highland.  Nor was it placed in Nomsincherg, to show that Arsenal is not only a deity for gnomes.

The high cleric is Avegnster Kreedenful, who was chosen shortly after Arsenal gained a seat on the Counsil.  Not a tinker gnome racially, nor a machinehead, he is better able to interreact with other religions.  He is an ally of Gneon.

We also made Arcane Ranger which is the newest ranger variant. Wignston is one of them and he is a big worshipper of Melodi and I think it was decided that the Arcance ranger tradition came out of the bardic college and Melodi influenced it.  That is if I remember correctly.  So Melodi might have a lot of arcane rangers instead of paladin variations.

Could be an opportunity to create a new Paladin type.  We have Paladin, Feyalin, Kendalin, and Paladi Anthichi.  Now we just need the Melodian; a Bard-based Paladin that heals and turns through song and performance.

Lakius (Neutral Good)

The years between Counsil meetings are turbulent for Lakius.  It was not because of the reign of Iott, or the difficulties with arcane magic.  The religion struggled between two competing views of the faith going forward.  Eventually, the faction favoring a return to traditional Lakian ways championed by now high cleric Nathan won the day.

A good number of clerics an faithful that had been faithful because of their adherence to hermitage and solitude left the religion.  They took some other with them, who were convinced the Lakius they knew was gone.  This drop in number of faithful and the near abandonment of the tenants of solitude and hermitage lead to Lakius being demoted to a Demi power in 816.

What remains of his faith is strong and determined to bring back the master of the seas as protector of water and air.  Nathan is high cleric and he strives long and hard to bring back members that left and evangelize to more.  He meets frequently with the other creator deities and looks to re-forge those bonds that had existed for so long.

Falan (Chaotic Good)

The years between Counsils were a struggle for Falan.   Many of his faithful devoted themselves fully to destroying the undead, but this prevented his other aspects from expanding. His inability to marshal a meaningful force to combat Sutyr, Chaos, Dresta or Kallark was a clear sign of weakness. Falan finds himself more isolated on the Counsil, with only Stasis and Arsur’anyodel steadfast allies.

His high clerics convened a meeting at the high temple in Hertopowlis in early 792 to resolve which temple would replace Portet as first among equals. By that time Iott was clearly ascendant and that played a large role in the debate. After months of debate the high temple was moved to Amansky and officially proclaimed on the Day of Magic 793.

During this council William Summerlight formally retired as Falan’s champion. Though well shy of old age for a Drow Elf, Sir William was demoralized by the consequences of the Severing and the destruction wrought by the aspect obelisk. Esetia of Magenthia was named champion. She was slain sometime in the mid-790’s. No new champion has been named. Clement of Pacyr is Falan’s most powerful servant, though he is over 90 years old.

Befitting of the placement of the high temple in Amansky, the current high cleric is a Sakor'akai named Karsah known as the Lifebringer.  Having worshipped Falan from a young age as the creator of the Sakor’aki, he was fascinated by biology and living things of all sorts. He traveled abroad before the reign of Iott to study on the Great Plateau, where he had heard of Lansin.  He also studied in the Academy in Amansky, but only briefly as he preferred to be in the field.

- Mass deaths due to plagues, people choosing eternal life = win
- War with Iott = win
- Destruction of Suytr = win
- The Necromancy stone hung around longer then most = win
- Masochistic Falan demoted  = win
- Full of himself Stasis drifts farther out to the planes = win

TLDR - win Win WIN WIN!!!!
Most of the time after that was filled with "Elevation Celebration"

There is a High Cleric with saggy flesh arms, balding head, more burnt then tan skin, singed hair, with a pretty "smoking" elven vampire girl friend, that rides around on a walking throne made of bones...
