I am going to post these in four blocks so that they don't all run together.  Questions welcome and, within the limits of the already posted narratives, anything your characters would take an interest in.

Events in Icefia (and involving Icefia) 791-816

791: Allanda Melodie ascends to the Counsil but maintains part of her divine realm in the Bardic College.  Xu Iyuae passes and Haskra the Reddened becomes Dean and high cleric.
The royal family welcome twins: Kanith and Alyson.  For followers of Stasis, and historians of the royal line, this is further confirmation of Arion’s status as true heir, as fraternal twins following a first-born son occurred in every royal family until the line was broken.  Kanith is named for Lira’s grandfather, and Alyson for Allyson Trueheart, a hero of both Icefia and Yellowia.

792: The town of Havenhollow is formally recognized by the King of the Midlands
Construction of the High Temple of Melodie begins in Colonye (her home before she founded the Bardic College).  Numerous accidents befall the workers and it is only after the construction is watched over by Knights and staff from the College that it is completed (794)
The attempt to infiltrate Greysnows from the sea is unsuccessful.
Layraedia formally recognizes the lands of the Scaled Elves as a protectorate of the Kingdom

793: The royal family welcomes Prince Evard.  Evard has silver hair and green eyes, a sign of his celestial heritage.
Parker becomes a professor at the Bardic College and welcomes his first child- Thera

794: Ajax departs Icefia after years fighting and travelling the Kingdom.
Construction of the Shining Tower begins on the northwest frontier.

795: the High Constable, Xander Caladrian, retired and his second in command, Adjutant Constable, Stanton Corum was appointed High Constable.
The Humperdinks move to Havenhollow.
The Berkos welcome identical twin girls: Marina and Gwendolyn
Gilliam, who had preyed upon women in Fort Pinceer and Cape Tolya for more than a decade, is arrested in Cape Tolya by famed constable Bryvis Elswind.  The Queen of the South denies his demand to be disemboweled and instead hangs him from the castle walls.  His body is stolen from the Temple of Dedestroyt.
A plot against the Kingdom by Sutyr worshippers is discovered in Phiam.  The high king bans the church and a purge led by Ari, Martine and Nisoru begins.

796: The royal family welcomes another set of twins: Kaelyn and Oliver.  Kaelyn is named for a Yellowian Queen and Oliver for King Oliver Westrom.
Sigusir’s Rift: A barbarian ranger finds a strange, seemingly bottomless rift on the northeast edge of the Firepeak lands.  He reported it to a local town.  By the time the Knights and soldiers arrived a contingent from Iott had sealed off the area.  When they departed only a faint black line on the ground remained.

Good timing to have two weeks off as there’s much to be done.

What do you do to assist in the imminent clash of armies?
What efforts do you make to rescue/retrieve those pulled into the astral vortex?

And after that what’s next?

Within the city walls there is chaos. The wave of slime overwhelms hundreds of common folk and soldiers, including those driven mad by the avatar’s presence or gaze. Ari and Solaris see Nisoru buckle and collapse into the tide.

Rubius and Parker see the city’s defenses begin to organize and a few men return to their posts to man their trebuchets or Ekrulian ballistas.

Outside the walls Kerkley and Asinjin see the aspect of Behamut continue on its path and Belarek flying to meet him. Uscis disappears from your sight.

Icefian soldiers, with Diamond Brigade shock troops in the lead, march through the gate and wheel to take a position between the southern wug formations and the city.

As the aspect closes on the wug front a massive 8 headed, winged, hydra appears in the air in its path. Kerkley can see the Bloated towering over the common wug chanting and screaming in their midst.

XP is 4200- 100x your level.

Those on the wall that can see the slithering horror have two rounds of actions.

Those behind the city still have about ten minutes to get to the other stone on foot.

The neoillothid gives off perhaps the worst smell or combination of smells you have ever experienced. And then Parker and Varea start burning it.

Grimdrek recovers from the mind blast that had knocked him out. When he comes to he says: “Ack! Solaris my old friend see what has become of me!”  Solaris sees that Grimdrek is now a stout saurial, with a horned and bone crested head.

William examines the slime pool and shakes his head.

(If anyone would like to post a recap for Parker and more generally for Solaris that would be great)

The cavern that leads out of the crater is part natural but has also clearly been enlarged. The ground has been trampled. There is blood and various types of slime on the ground and walls. It is irregular but on average 30’ wide but only 7 to 8’ high.

Constables of Icefia / Update
« on: July 26, 2020, 10:36:10 PM »
Part 1

We last left the constables at the Severing. The winter following the Severing in Portet was difficult for both residents and those deployed to the city. News, and rumor, of the events inside the Temple swept through the city and surrounding towns. The elves long had an ambivalent relationship with Falan’s church and the claims that this mysterious event had “cured” Falan of his taint were met with suspicion.

Not long after, Lord Arishimoto departed and was replaced as governor by a Rose elf, High General Amana Rosetree. Her military approach to matters combined with her heritage is well received by all but the most hard line Scaled Elves and the growing contingent of foreign “entrepreneurs”.

In light of the stressful and sometimes hazardous nature of the assignment, constables are given extended periods of leave away from the city throughout 787 and 788.  In addition all are awarded hazard pay.

During your time in the city a sense of normalcy, or at least somewhat predictable routine, develops. The end of the blockade allowed trade to resume, but those that had traded with the Scaled Nation are not the ones that take advantage of the new opportunity.  By late 787 it is clear that are several groups with conflicting and overlapping interests at work in the city. Most prominent among them are the Redleafs but there are Horarians, Islanders and Layraedians as well. Not all are criminals, at least not in the professional sense, but their disagreements led to a cycle of reprisals.

While the constables are responsible for policing the city, they are aware that the Knights and the marines have had to contest with spies and infiltrators from the north.

On top of all of this the winters are harsh even by Icefian standards in both 87 and 88.

Early in 788 Sgt. Windbourne is promoted and transferred to Cape Tolya. He is sorry to leave you and welcomes any of you to join him when you are released from this assignment. You give him as good a send off as you can manage. Bryvis is promoted, unexpectedly to replace him.

In the ninth month of 788, as the winter looms, the entire cohort that was assigned to Portet with you is assembled at the temple of Stasis. High Constable Caladrian addresses you as a group and then thanks all of you individually. You are all given a month of paid leave and then returned to your previous duty station. You are directed to report for duty in Phiam on the first day of the 11th month.

XP will be awarded at my usual pace.

Do you go back to the Guardian Vale or to the abandoned village?
