For Compture, Loomashyn, and Chaos.  Discuss and create.

Races of Eberron (p180) has a Transformation domain:

Granted Power: You cast transmutation spells at +1 caster level.

1 Enlarge Person
2 Alter Self
3 Gaseous Form
4 Involuntary Shapeshifting*
5 Polymorph
6 Baleful Polymorph
7 Doppelganger Transformation*
8 Polymorph Any Object
9 Shapechange

The ones with the * are in RoE.

Good find.  However, I don't like the granted power.  Let's work on that.

How about this:

While voluntarily under the effect of any transmutation spell, you can temporary hit points equal to your 1d4/spell level.

I have ordered RoE so I can review those spells.

While voluntarily under the effect of any transmutation spell, you can temporary hit points equal to your 1d4/spell level.

If you become under the voluntary influence of a second transmutation spell at the same time, no additional hit points are gains.

Unless one or more of the new spells don't work, I will consider this domain complete.

If under the effect of multiple transmutation spells, the highest level one applies.

The 4th level Involuntary Shapeshifting only effects other creatures that can already take another shape, so I don't think we can use that one.

for 4th level, Permeable Form from Lords of Madness.

I think it would be cooler to do something more interesting with the granted ability instead of just giving temporary HP especially since we have healing abilities in the heal and repose domain.  I think transformation lends it self to more diverse abilities.  Maybe you can gain a shapeshift like the druid ability.  Maybe you can adapt your body to extreme weather conditions,  maybe you can adapt your body to different modes of movement such as gills for swimming.

The change shape ability is already given to clerics of Compture as their turning ability, so there would be overlap there if we did something like that for the Transformation domain ability.

I prefer keeping the change shape ability as a turn undead replacement.

Idea for an alternative to the hp gain ability: Transmutation spells cast by you are more difficult to dispel...add 1.5 times your divine caster level on caster level checks made to resist dispelling any transmutation spell you cast.

Another: Apply the "heighten spell" feat to transmutation spells you cast, max spell level equal to the highest level spell you can cast, daily pool of spell level change equal to 1 spell level/cleric level. So a 3rd level cleric of Compture could cast 3 first level transmutation spells as if they were 2nd level spells (affecting DC, dispel checks, spellcraft checks, etc).

I think that is too complex.  I like the creative thinking though.

Working on a good granted power.  More Thoughts?

Any thoughts on this one?

I am fine with that.  There are a lot of good ideas for powers, we just have to settle on one.  Who has a cleric that would have this domain?  I will give that player top say.
