Guide to Psionics / Re: Disciplines
« on: January 23, 2024, 10:59:09 AM »
Empathy is more about reading emotions, not thoughts (that’s telepathy). So I don’t think it belongs there.

I didn’t see Mind Probe assigned to a block yet, that and Read Thoughts should be together since they are similar concepts at different potency.

Yeah I figured it was an oversight and tried to look at the disciplines but I am not sure which one to add it to or if we need a new discpline.
How about an Inquisition discipline:
  • Concentration: Roll sense motive checks twice and take the higher result
  • Read Thoughts
  • Zone of Truth, Psionic
  • Mind Probe

“Now would be a good time to say something. Other than screaming. What is it you want from us?”

Yoshi sighs heavily for having to get involved, casts Wieldskill on himself, prays for the collective wisdom of his ancestors, and shuffles up to the orc. “Calm yourself. No one here will harm you. You are in the presence of clergy of the Old Orc, QuanYin and Smofarf. We are curious as to why you were following us. Clearly you must have good reason to put yourself in such a precarious position on the roof. Perhaps we can answer any questions you may have for us directly?  What is it you wish to know about us?”

I’d say skip. Practically that means starting at 9.
Agreed

Once we find a place to stay, I would like to cast divination on the purpose of the basket.

To go along with the bad vision

For a deity centered around not intervening, the provision of any sort of prophecy directing our actions, regardless of quality, is a big deal.

After the performance, Vega gets back to business. “What have you all tried to do to escape this place?”

In the surplus down time (once he’s feeling slightly less intimidated), Vega interviews each of the powers present to learn about their individual backgrounds, portfolios, and dogmas. Partly to identify available resources, partly out of curiosity to see if any of them are a better match to his particular outlook on life than the Habololy deities.

Breach can’t ignore the growing cultist threat. He will look to recruit a new team to combat the infestation. He prays for guidance from Dedestroyt on where to start looking.

Domain / Re: Settled Deities' Domains

New feat idea - Divine Chronomancy. Cleric with the Time domain gains access to a limited list of chronomancy spells to use as an option for filling domain spell slots. Currently, I think all Habololy chronomancy spells are arcane, despite there being a few deities (3) with the Time domain in their portfolio. Would have to curate a list of appropriate spells, thinking one per spell level.

Thoughts?

Can we get a recap of our objective? I don’t recall travel being involved - I thought we could accomplish our goal with a chronomancy scry?

Berronar comes over with Gaerdal to examine the gem. Turning to Vega she says: “Care for some tea dear? Or something stronger?”
Thank you Revered Mother. Definitely something stronger. Maybe that will help lessen the persistent sense of dread I’m feeling. Not sure if that’s from our situation or the gigantic wyrm in the room. Could we maybe throw a tarp over that thing?

once recovering from her stunned awe..

"We must not forget, Iskus swallowed 2 of the gems, shards of Kallak's godly power."  pointing at the dragon.

“Yes, agreed. That’s the first problem that needs to be addressed. The other two of these gems [dropping the third onto the table for dramatic effect] need to be removed from Istven’s belly before he has time to do something sinister with them. Surely one of you assembled here can…extract…them?”

“Second problem, where the blazes are we and what’s going on? Tell us everything you know about the situation we now find ourselves in?”

Vega ducks behind Sha’ar as he draws his hand crossbow and pops the exposed demon with a dimensional anchor bolt. It’s a seeking crossbow so it ignores miss chances.
