After further consideration the pirates are stripped, shackled or bound and brought on board. Ten fit in the brig and the rest are locked in a hold under guard. The White Sword then makes full sail, with some magical assistance and continues on towards the Island of the Cradle.

I ask someone on the crew - who usually interrogates these prisoners. They where clearly after us, I would appreciate the knowledge why.

How many prisoners?
How many of our crew were hurt?

I do not stay around for that entire process.

There are 38 prisoners. 32 men and 6 women, all human.
About 25 crew of the White Sword are injured and four were killed.

The captain says:

Horarians, I assume.

Say What?

Say What?
The captain says: We don't usually interrogate prisoners while we are underway; it takes too many crew away from their duties to maintain safety. But I will have a storage room cleared for you to pursue the matter if you wish.

That
Do we not hear anything?

The captain says:
Lachlan takes the captains silence as an indication that they don't normally take prisoners, or have not done so in a while. Lachlan suggests we find the 5 most senior (rank) among the pirates and interrogate them/ use them as an example for the others.
-
Lachlan asks the Captain of the White Sword if there are any Maritime laws that must be observed/upheld when interrogating pirate prisoners

Godric stands guard while Laclan "interrogates" to make sure things don't go too far.

Yes, of course. We don't torture prisoners. Ordinarily, we would be taking them back to Icefia, where they know they would be facing a life sentence of hard labor. As a result, most pirates are somewhat cooperative. They're not the picture of steadfastness, pirates. These pirates don't know that we will likely have to turn them over to the Horarians, who are far more lenient. You could intimate we will give them to the Layraedians, who have the death penalty; but they may think that a better fate than decades in the mines or lumbering the far north.

Thinks it over for a minute.. isn't psychological tourture, still torture?
-
It only applies if there is a cleric of Celetal in the vicinity

I do not think intimidation falls under the Icefian definition of psychological torture. There are worse thing we could do to extract information from these despicable people. They certainly deserve worse.

The captain says Informing criminals of the potential consequences of their actions is not torture by any definition. It is actually an essential principle of the rule of law.

At first the pirates are disinclined to cooperate but they soon realize you are not naval officers and become wary. Godric s presence is unnerving and after a few attempts you are satisfied the rank and file know nothing. In fact they are angry that their masters sent them against a ship that clearly out classed them.
Your options for more senior crew include the leader of the marines (who Ruby knocked out), a cleric of Lavashki, who you fished out of the water, the only surviving officer from the frigate and the captain of the second sloop.
The majority of survivors were from the second sloop, with the second largest group from the boarding party.

Dylan elbows Godric " Ask them " pointing at the cleric of Lavashki, and the Marine leader " why they wanted us, "
