23rd Baston Sun 786 - News from the Great Halfling Forest is that the Lord of Scalehome and his fey allies have conquered the Fellos Estate.  The battle lasted several days, during which the halfling put up a valiant fight as is expected from the legendary defenders of the forest.  Even with their orcish allies arriving to aid them, the Halflings could not stand against the might of Scalehome.  Commander Ellic was overheard saying, "We shall return." as he fled the estate.

1 Trest 787 - The efforts by a local company and the town of Grimhold are fully underway to reclaim the lands of the entity once known as the skull lord.  Anyone interested in joining the effort, where pay is in reclaimed land, is encouraged to go to Grimhold soon.  Once winter comes, the efforts will slow for the year.  So far, only token undead resistance has been encountered.

How long does it take for news to reach Port Talp and get printed?  In other words, how much time has passed since the Plateau campaign and this article?

How long does it take for news to reach Port Talp and get printed?  In other words, how much time has passed since the Plateau campaign and this article?

This article is printed at the beginning of the 5th month, while the last plateau season began about a month and a half earlier.  This article is printed before the end of that season when the clerics go on crusade.

The time in between the event occurring and being printed varies.  Sometimes based on the time it takes for the events to be known, other times based on the interest or desires of the printer.

Unless the article explicitly states a time, the people of Port Talp have to make their own judgement about when the events occurred.  This can often depend on your opinion of the paper.  That is a lot easy for the stories about events nearby, which the last two stories I posted being two exceptions from the two papers that report news outside the city.

For this article in particular, no date is given.  The general perception and the expected time frame for news from the plateau is ten days to two weeks of delay.

27th Leenot 787 - This year's haul of Deep Blue Crabs was at an all time low for summer.  Never Before have we seen such poor crabs.  Likely, the Horarians are up to some treachery and are the cause of this.  (included with the short article is a overdone picture of a Horarian with a net scooping up lots of blue crabs out at sea and a small coastal city on the horizon)

28th Leenot 787 - Yesterday, the Sailor's Guild blocked access to several piers in Belsun.  They claimed that the owners of the piers are in fact Horarians and are in violation of city rules regarding sailor safety.  As no ships were docked, there were no delays, but the sailors' guild promises to remain until the issue is settled.

9th Mafeet 787 - Wanted: sailors looking for work aboard one of the many corsair ships seeking to fight off the pirate scourge.  Crews are forming as the fleet gets ready to set sail later this month.  Don't miss out on your chance for rewards both physical and everlasting as our city takes on the pirate menace.

This is posted in many of the papers as well as posted around the city.

It is reported in numerous papers that the Mayor and other city leaders are meeting with the Marshall of Iott in Port Talp in mid-Wavery, the 4th month.  This news does not appear to have been leaked from an inside source, but officially announced by the powers that be.
