I look forward to encountering the new eagle god and his faithful lycanthrope herald.  I imagine his banner will bear a shiny amber gem inside a nest.

The siege of the castle takes three days, starting the morning after you attack the tent and leadership.

The defenders are thrilled at your actions at first, but when the truth that a siege is still happening set in, their joy turns to fret.  None of you or your allies have ever dealt with anything like three days of relentless attacks.  It is harrowing, nerve racking and draining.

While you have a clearly stronger position, backed up by more powerful spells from Fenwick and Char than the Gree have on their side, they are a well oiled battle ready army.  They attack in formation and are a true team, never leaving others to die or abandoning their duty.  Time and again you think you have one killed only to see him carried away and revived with a minor spell and taken to rest.

Your defenders are not a well oiled unit and fight separately.  The gnomes are easily the best ranged attackers on the field and it is only a lack of endless bolts that prevents them from being a devastating force for you.  The Hiljanion are indeed tireless, and that is a great asset.  The Dromite and Rivermen are somewhat at a loss as how to help.  They bring up food and water and repair things, put out fires.  The Dromite several times repel Gree raiding parties from the sides and those battles are the costliest for you side during the three days.

As for you individually, by the end of the first day, Mindaris is basically out of arrows.  The Gree make sure that you can recover none.  There are no arrows that match your bow here and while you begin to craft more, it takes time.  The Gree come during the day, and Ben is therefore left hanging with the Dromites guarding the flanks.  Fenwick and Char let loose with there magical assaults each day to great impact.  Once it comes to your lesser attacks, you quickly learn that the gree have dozens of lesser casters that wait for you to pop out and return fire at you.  While it is worth it for you to get off a large spell attack, bolts of fire and eldritch blasts that hit on target are not worth the dozen snipes that come back at you.  You do prevent those casters from doing other things because of your threat.  Waryn becomes the most effective defender of the gnomes on the walls.  Whenever Gree reach the top, he rushes to the spot and beats them back.

More to come...
