Comprehend Languages is a 1st level Cleric spell, so even though it will pain me greatly to do it, Valizar can pray to The Great Lizard and ask for that spell.  That is, of course, unless Haas would like to do it and spare me from having to waste a precious spell slot on a non-combat spell.

You can understand what he is saying, but you can't speak to him with that spell.

For the sake of time, I assume one of the clerics present casts tongues.  So if you have any questions for the dead nixie, you can start listing them.

  • What were you doing in the lake?
  • That were you doing to the lake?
  • What is/was being done to the residents of Owt?
  • Why was the lake guarded?

Is the drinking water being contaminated in some way?
If so, how?
Also if so, what is the remedy/antidote to restore the water to its natural state?

I'd also like to add these two questions.

1) What did it feel like to be kicked to death by a Champion of Tyrogatore?
2) Since you're in Dedestroyt's realm now, can you ask him what his favorite martial style is?  I've always been curious.

Whoever cast the spell laughs but does not asks these.

That's five questions used.

Holy Cow!  Plant Growth is crazy, I don't think useful here, but wow.  ( All plants within a mile produce at a higher rate - for farming)

The “overgrowth” function of Plant Growth creates a huge area of terrain that slows creatures’ movement to only 5 ft per round. Total. That could be handy for slowing the advance of the army, or funneling the troops onto paths we want them to take.

Not so handy if the army is made up entirely of 7th level rangers though.

Do you have any questions for the elf before you cast on him?
Yes. We hang on to him until the posthumous interrogation of the nixie.

Did we check to see if this guy was enchanted?

I believe there was the perfunctory detect magic scan for items, which revealed none and no spells cast on him.
