Woo Hoo.  Between last week and this week exp, I think I have enough to level up so that means level 8 spells for my last battle!

Claude, if you could list the potions and gems collected.

To clarify a mistake from last night, it is the middle of the 12th month, deep in darkness.  Still not cold on the island.

Do we expect Maekrix to be at his “palace” when we make our move? If yes, I ask the GM for a layout of the structure and the surrounding area.

It is the safest place, so your best bet is that he will either be there, or retreat to there.

Layout to come, but in general it is large and open for medium sized creatures.  It has to accommodate huge creatures moving through easily.

Is it accessible to us via normal means? Or is it at the top of a mountain? Are there doors?

Does the palace consist of only dragons or is there any other type of creatures living there?

Through Sas via Golden Mother, there are not doors, just large openings.

It is on a plateau that is not too high above the ground and can be walked to over not particularly difficult terrain.

Servants of the dragons, at this time, slaves of various races.  There are guardian creatures, but none as dangerous as the dragons.

The reason I ask is because I can now cast 5th level spells and was considering Hide From Dragons as an option.  We could walk right through the front door without them noticing.

Safe to assume that have a spell active or creature present to counter that, says Rico.

We collected 22K in various gems and the Dragon sized potions are listed below.
(2) Potions of Regeneration-Could offer healing if no loss of limbs
(2) Potions that allow the user to change type of Breath Weapon
(1) Potion of Polymorph
(1) Potion of Psionic Recovery-Power Points

Are the sentries aerial, aquatic, terrestrial, all of the above?

GM data is probably very old, we should cross check against Rico’s more recent experience.

Ssaskra can use the breath weapon potions. Does Claude know specifics regarding duration and type of modification?

It would be fantastic if we could be in place before Maekrix hunkers down.

Do the indoor spaces accommodate flight for huge creatures?

Some, but not many.  The main hall does, and that is where the throne is.

The breath change potion lasts an hour. The DM can confirm but i believe you change to any type of breath.

Any energy type, it cannot replicate Shadow Breath energy drain.

Sentient or beastly? Wondering if we might be able to bluff our way in.

The Golden Mother tells you he is a more skilled spellcaster than one would expect for his age.

Wonderful.

So our current plan is a frontal assault on the home fortress of an ancient red dragon spellcaster who’s just enacted DEFCON 1 protocols.

Any other ideas? Need a non-teleport way to bypass security.

What do you all think about tempting the Slayer to come out and play?    I can't imagine he would be opposed to taking a crack at a powerful dragon.  With the diplomacy of Sass we have a shot at a short term alliance.

Maybe he could do us all a favor and get killed in the attempt.

That's a fun metagame idea, but terrible in-game idea.  Besides, he's probably going to be there waiting for us anyway.  Wouldn't be a proper series finale without untimely death staring us in the face.  ;)

It would be great if all the Claude's make a cameo for the finale.

I like the innovative thinking. I’m guessing the slayer has plot-based resistances to Ssaskra’s diplomancy.

Is Rico aware of any dragons at the palace/islands that would like to see Maekrix dethroned? Ssaskra might have a shot at convincing them to help us sneak in. Or even better, join the fight.

So Ssaskra has the ability to charm or dominate animals multiple times a day, which lasts for 1-2 weeks. Are there any animals on Alav’s (sp?) island that are used to a gigantic red dragon flying around that we could borrow? I’m thinking we could get a squadron of pterodactyls or an armada of dire sharks to accompany us.

What about Ritvali?  He's a god now so he should be able to help in some way.

Also has the 'no magical transport' issue.

really, why is that?

The Stalker of the Dead cannot transport magically.  The other deities forbid it, as he would quickly make being brought back from the dead obsolete.

I can also animal growth the animals.  I can't imagine we are going to be able to fight in water and use sharks but if we can then there are a number of things I can do in the water that would help.

I meant the slayer of whales and dragons, not the slayer of the dead.
