I will go with you. I only ask that if it is possible we take Malfesseus alive. The return of my family codex means more to me than the sword or any of my other possessions.

Have you tried using magic to locate your codex. Asinjin is quite the grumpy talented diviner.

Kerkly asks, "How does a ring of inertial armor work?"

Roland says: like a Mage armor spell.

Roland takes off his black gye and as he allows the chameleon skin to envelop him you can see he has a tattoo of a couatl that covers most of his back.

Upon hearing that, Asinjin chimes in, "I am reminded that Falan is the lord of swords.  Be wary for enchantments that may take control of your blades while in the temple.  If possible, use other weapons."
Ari gives a concerned look to his primary weapon (a sword), his offhand weapon (a sword), and his backup weapon (also a sword). He then withdraws a naginata from his bag of holding. "This probably doesn't qualify as a sword, right? Too bad it's not magical...perhaps the high cleric might be able to temporarily enchant it..."

Ari also grabs 2 of those +1 daggers from the assassins as backups to my backups.

I'll put a peace bond on my backup shortsword, and strap the naginata to Astrek's saddle. I'm assuming the temple and black field entrance are big enough to accommodate a large celestial dire badger.

Eventually
Are you refusing a direct command from the Lord Governor?

Parker holds his hands up in a "hey, i don't know what you're talking about" pose and uses one hand to point to Roland, who now has the shuriken

I have no access to such magic. Perhaps I can pay your friend if we return.

Against living opponents most will use necromantic spells.
