On the way to the temple the group spotted a black line through the forest.  They decide it is/was a magic circle.

Once at the temple Robert climbs up and promptly falls through the roof.  The others join him inside only to find some shadowy creatures trying to strangle him.  The group engages the shadows and they flee or are destroyed.

We search the rest of the temple and find a mummified version of the high cleric...who promptly freezes half the group in its tracks.  The others once again engage and destroy the creature.  Quorl gets a nasty case of the rot and is saved just in time by Uleric and a scroll.

With the immediate threat gone the group finishes it's search and finds a cache of food in the basement.  They also find the device that created the mummy thanks to the insight from Vasilli.

The last of the shadow creatures returns just before morning and is destroyed.

The group returns to Portet and relays what happened to the First Constable.

He then assigns them another mission to the lighthouse.  The group finds the tracks of the other group of constables in but not out.

They enter the lighthouse and shortly realize they are in a 'maze'.  The only way out is to 'think' your way out.  After much thinking Vassili disappears.  Leaving the rest of the group to fend for themselves.

Importantly we found the diary of the high cleric, which fell inline the story Vasili saw through his Psyhic Impressions.  As well as described strife between the church and state.

We also seem to be stalked by a large Crow/Raven.  He's definitely watching us.

Ularik would have had time to identify all of the scrolls, I believe.

Only requires a Full round action and a spellcraft check to determine the spell.  DC 20+ spell level.

OR

Cast Read Magic, 0 level unprepared, 10 minutes per level.

So yes he can.

So, can Gneetagh take 20 to "think" his way out of the maze?  It's obvious he can do nothing else and he witnessed Vissilli escape, so he knows it's possible.

. It's not a skill so you can't take 20 and you can't make the check.

Are we going to wait until next session to get out of this, or is there something one of us has to do to exit it?

In that case, I hack away at the nearest wall until I feel something give.

"Yes, thank you very much."  I take it and begin hammering away on the nearest wall.

What is Bryvus' Spellcraft check?

I'm 250 miles from my character sheet, but I think I have max ranks with a 21 Int, so +12.

Bryvus is sure that you are in a Maze spell. It's an extradimensional space so you can't break out you can only solve your way out. You saw Vasilli disappear so he solved it. If you want to try you can do the same but everyone must do it on their own.

Two Int checks done on roll20. 13, then 23.

Very well; I'll make as many Intelligence checks as I need to get out of here.  Modifier +1.  Roll it up DM.

I think this means the Gneetah won't make the check even on a roll of 20.  It's not a saving throw, so a natural 20 doesn't auto succeed.

"Well, it was nice meeting you all.  It apears I'll be stuck in this maze for the rest of my natural life."

I practice my footwork and fighting stances with my Kovan Greatsword until I starve to death or someone smarter than Gneetagh comes to rescue me.

Vasili is very happy that you have faith he'll come and rescue you.

Though, if I fail, maybe they'll send me home

Uleric makes a Spellcraft check (+7) to see if he knows anything about Maze spells.

In the meantime, (if he was not armed/armored already) one minute you see him in his normal Constable/Clerical garb, there is a small flash of light around one of his fingers, and all of a sudden you see him in armor and holding an impressive bow.

We were allowed to be armed when we went to the temple, since we had encountered undead at the other temple.

Fantastic. Then everyone saw what i described when the order was given that we could use our weapons.

"You're right Robert, we should not lose heart just yet.  Stasis wouldn't allow us to be trapped by a situation we couldn't possibly overcome..."

Sgt Windbourne says: I think the two who might have been able to answer that question have departed. Lets assume we will be here a while. Conserve your food and water.

Just don't work yourself to the point of thirst. We know the other squad has been missing for 12 hours and we only have a day and a half worth of water each.

Do we still have the diaries or did we hand them in as evidence?  If we have them, I'll re-read them to see if there's anything I missed.  If we have the mummy box, I suggest we examine it thoroughly.  I forget if we handed that in or if we were forced to keep it since it freaked out the Orc.

I think we handed in everything, except that I asked to keep the hammer and some potions.
