Title: Immediately Following the SNAP
Post by: Asinjin on July 14, 2020, 08:12:03 PM
As everyone disperses, I don't recall if it was stated who takes City Cleaver.  It was in the ground next to Vor'Ruk.

The standing stones are: Necromancy, Illusion, and Transmutation...correct?

Correct. Chronomancy also still stands but is cracked.

Parker took it back.

Russel asks Benlin if he and Acyll can alert the Guardian Temple to what has occurred.

“Ari, we must alert the Icefian government and the Knights. Anything that can be done in the next few days to take advantage of the confusion this is surely causing in Iott must be undertaken.  As for the rest of you (keeping well clear of Valizar) I don’t know you except by reputation. As you have achieved your goal I politely suggest you too take advantage and alert those you trust to act against the Iott leadership.”

Luigi sighs " we.. need to end this war as soon as possible, and fix the stones.  They are one of our best lines of defense against demons and other evils"

Cloud agrees.  We must take the fight to them as soon as possible.  We should gather forces from the few nations that were able to stand against Iott.

Out of curiosity, what happens mechanically when a quasi-deity achieves full deity status?

Do clerics gain access to a second domain (quasi clerics only get 1)?

According to the Habololy domain list, quasi deities only have 2 domains but demi-powers get 3. Does that mean the Collector picks up another domain option?

They do gain a 2nd domain and the Collector gets a third option.

Neat.

To recap for posterity, The Collector, Melodi, and Arsenal were promoted to demi-powers. Falan was demoted to a demi-power.

I have dibs on the first cleric to Melodi! (I know I can't actually call dibs but I am definitely making one)

Does the destruction of the stones have an impact on magic items?

There are many magical implications that will be explored in the post SNAP would.  For now, I will not detail them all.

I assume that the wizards and others will try to repair them after we defeat Iott.  I assume you have other plans for what happens when we try that.

My plan is to read everyone plans for the characters and then detail what happens.  It is not to play out in person or on the board the events immediately post SNAP and during the battles with Iott.

I assume there are some characters (the gnolls) who care little for the battle against Iott and just return to their homes.

I only posted post-snap plans for the characters I had involved in the session.  Do you want updates on all our characters or just the ones involved in the snap?

That'll be a fun character to play.  I'd like to play a Cleric of Ritvalli at some point; possibly an Evangelist. I think it would be fun to "preach" the good word of his faith while trying to remain stealthy.

You can post all if you want.

I’m still hoping we do an all Collector campaign at some point.

Me too.  Seems all the more feasible considering his recent promotion.  :D

Nah, only Natsu, Schurke, and Profit followed The Collector in that group.  We're thinking more of a religious movement with acolytes of his faith spreading word of his ascension and pumping out droves of magic items into the world.

If items still function normally post-snap, there could be a huge market for high price items that replicate those high level spells that no longer work. We could make a killing on acquisition and sale of those items.

I like where you're going with this and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter...or should I say sacred texts.

I know you're not planning on getting into everything now, but I was curious if you would be willing/able to reveal what happens to epic spells after the stones are broken.  Are they connected to these stones or are there epic stones somewhere?  Habololy is listed as having the capability of reaching 15th level spells, but we never explored it as a group.

There are no epic stones.  It is widely believed that epic spells would not exist without the circle.

Who's originally responsible for placing the stones here?

The Circle was created by the first great wizards of Habololy, of whom the only name that is remembered is Gaelwynon, an elf of the Vinsaise.  Legend tells that the circle was created to focus magic, allowing spells of great power, that were previously unable to be cast, to be used by the circle’s creators.  It took some time, but eventually, other wizards developed spells of epic power and the power that had been created for a few spilled out into the world.

Does Gaelwynon still live?  I don't know the timeline, but being an Elf, I suppose it's possible.

He does not.  He lived for over 600 years, but died known to have died 2600+ years ago.

The wizards shared some of this story with you I imagine.  The wizards have all so fixed a stone before.  I know Cloud tries to speak with Melodi about how to handle this situation.

What did the Wizards do to fix it in the past?  This is Malchia asking Cloud, Luigi, and Russell.

The wizards encountered him in the past. Russel has his robe and staff. He can’t wear the robe though.

In short, they are improved versions of a robe of the archmagi and staff of power. There’s at least one other item out there that we never found. I don’t recall off hand what it was.

Hey, we're all on the same team here. Malchia wants to restore magic and prevent the Iottians from taking over the world as much as anyone.

Cloud still will not work with Malchia unless he give up all the daggers and the artifacts used to find them. Again he encourages the wizards not to work with malchia and go back and talk to melodie.  We share info with people like Rubius Ari , asinjin parker and montaron to get the stones fixed after the war. Oh and Tachau
