Since you can't get xp mid fight, I won't post it.
We will continue what is happening.
-
After further thought, so as not to forget and in case there is a stop next session, here is xp:
Spaz - for excellent use of spells and abilities - 3750
Riek - for shot gunning the caster and elbowing the devourer - 2500
Valizar - for being a pin cushion and charging as you should - 2000
Douvan - for undead destruction - 2000
Haas - for one of the most devastating attacks in 3rd ed and using every powerful spell you had - 4200
-
The scene:
In the large hall that until moments ago held the devourer, there are now a hundred lizardfolk swarming towards the giant size Haas and Grant. The two are within 15 feet of each other and are more than a match for the streaming lizardfolk, felling three of four each round and taking virtually no damage for their trouble.
The windwall remains up, blocking the entrances.
Spaz flutters around outside, looking for a way into the room. Douvan is also outside, having circled to the back, also looking for a way into the hall.
-
It is the 7th day of the 9th month.
-
The tunnel that the devourer escaped down, along with Valizar and Riek, was not there when you looked at first. It must have been an illusion.
Haas spots a variety of items under the curved seat on which the devourer had been sitting, before he is swarmed by lizardfolk.

gurgle splut...~bleed

Nice cheap post for 5 xp.
-
If someone can catch Grant up to speed, it could be worth some xp.
I need a game plan from Douvin, Spaz, Haas, and Grant once he is caught up.
Grant, you have Strength in Concentration active (total roll of 41) seven rounds ago. Your vest was activated five rounds ago. You have used a 1st and 2 second level spells. You have taken a measly 8 points of damage currently (after some healing). Haas cast Righteous Wrath, which is still active. He had cast Conviction on you as well, but it was dispelled.
-
Question: if my reach is 15' and the anti-life shell is 10', would the barrier still be there since my reach extends beyond the effect?
Also, any of the Devourer's flunkies who move within my reach while they were fleeing?
-
If you attacking doesn't end the spell, then yes.
None of them do pass within your range.
-
Dovin (note the correct spelling) will scale the rear wall, investigate the "chimney" and if it appears safe, carefully scale down into the interior. What is the roof made of?
-
It is made of wood, coated in something to prevent it from catching fire. It is more of a hole in the ceiling to allow the smoke out when there is a fire lit in the room, which is clearly not right now. Looking down, you can see the brawl.
-
Spaz sees Dovin and follows him in.
-
Spaz becomes visible as soon as he comes level with the roof.
-
Hmmm. Is there any one around that I notice that can see me? I also continue to hide 35.
-
No one that you see is focused on the roof, they are trying to deal with Haas and Grant, and failing.
-
Grant activates his Robe of the Vengeful Lizard: ( adds another 2d6 fire damage to attacks and now all adjacent foes to his targets take half that fire damage as well(the adjacent foes still get reflex saves to take half of that damage))
"Father Haas, I think it will be prudent, when we finish things here, as we spread the word of the plot against our mighty deity, we also encourage the teachings of combat tactics."
-
Spaz and Dovin see the fiery Grant laying waste to Lizardfolk.
In the first five rounds of fighting, Haas and Grnt each take 6 points of damage.
-
Not completely out of higher level blessings. Haas throws up a wall of stone across the door and windows on his next action after the Devourer flees.
Assuming Grant can handle the remaining Vass, Haas focuses his efforts on battering down the door to the secret passage. Giant size is still active, as is the anti-life shell.
-
Seeing Haas move to batter down the door, if it still in place a round after Haas turns his attention to it, Grant will split his attacks like this:
first: Graham's steel chop to the door
all the rest: at the vass
-
Grant is swarmed by Vass, and is twenty five feet from the door. He will have to beat his way through them to get there (should only take two rounds).
What kind of damage does Haas do to the door?
-
Grant takes a round to make another strength in concentration check when it expires (D20 + 28: 7+28=35 total check) That drops his Attack bonus and damage by 1
-
Haas could try to just run through the door, it would be faster, but it is less reliable. It would be a strength check. The DC of normal sized strong door is 23 with the strength check.
-
Dovin drops down behind the hoarde and shouts: enough, your master flees like a coward, showing you his true face. Begone and be thankful the servants of Tyrogatore have been so gentle with you." Someone can roll an intimidate check for me +8. I still have my aura up but it has no damaging effect (unless they are fiends or undead in disguise). If the don't flee I sheathe my sword, fight defensive and join in the pummeling. 2 attacks, d10+2.
-
Total of 22 for my intimidate.
-
Can I force the door open with a strength check in hopes of closing it behind us? Strength for this effort is 48. And I think I get a +8 size bonus for breaking stuff for being huge. With a -2 penalty to the check for being sickened.
-
How many Vass are in the room after the wall of stone was put up?
-
Dwarf Haas, I know you might not want to here from a Pixie but I do not know if it is prudent to give chase to the Devourer. He is on the run because you almost killed him. However, now he is likely being healed and returning to full power. I believe we have used most of our resources. You are out of your most powerful blessing. I do not believe that we can defeat the Devourer after he is healed and your are out of your most powerful blessing. Hopefully you will take what I have to say into consideration.

You could try and lift it, hold it while your allies get through, and then drop it.
That's a pretty high strength.

I have no intention of letting that monster consume another of my brothers. Valizar and Reik still live, I think, and I intend to retrieve them.

I do that. Str check = 12+19-2 = 29.
-
Any effect from my intimidate or have I joined the pummeling?
-
I do that. Str check = 12+19-2 = 29.
Your first attempt makes progress lifting it, but only enough for the pixie to get through.

OOC: I can't believe I forgot about that. I am not thinking. Spaz would have never had said that.

I try again. 3 rounds since the Devourerer fled, correct?
Str check = 15+19-2 = 32.
As I attempt to heave the door open: "Spaz, there are some items under the beasts chair. Grab them, it may prove useful if I have to scry him."
-
You do not manage to get the door any farther up.
It is at that point that Dovan and Spaz appear above.
