New Feat
« on: December 17, 2017, 04:09:09 PM »
I had a thought for an Epic feat that would cause saves by others caused by the epic level character to not automatically succeed on a 20.

So Luigi casts against Saladien, who can only make the save on a 20 because the DC is 32 and his save is only +10.  If Luigi has this new feat, than the 20 by Saladien does not auto succeed.

This could also apply to other saves caused by effects other than spells.

Thoughts?
The hand that rolls the Dice rules the world.

A neat idea. It would only be beneficial 5% of the time when facing an opponent with a low save bonus. I think that seems kind of limited in use to spend an epic feat slot on. Maybe if we added a secondary benefit?

How about adding that anyone who is immune to said save is forced to make a save anyway?  Maybe with a +4 bonus or something along those lines.

Using the previous example, Luigi casts against Saladien who is immune to fear.  He now must make the fear save with a +4 competence bonus and can't auto succeed with a natural 20.
