Excellent point. Holding XP hostage may accomplish something for once.

Can the Hunter of Paladins be moved magically from what Parker Knows? (One of his Relic hunter abilities gives him bardic knowledge-like checks on Magic Items and Evil Organizations)

Talk to the elven horde and convince them to abandon Marius?

Aren't they charging in to kill us? Diplomacy may not be prudent at this juncture. Perhaps we should hasten our retreat.

You know of no reason it can’t be moved magically. It will try to compel you to kill Ari however.
-

The horde is approximately 1000 elven soldiers lining up in formation.

Parker looks at the assembling horde and reaches into a pouch. He pulls out a gem about the size of his thumb and begins to walk over to Ari. After two steps he stops, reconsiders, and goes over to Thaddeus. He holds the Hunter of Paladins awkwardly under one arm as he reaches into another pouch and tells Thaddeus to hold out his hand. Parker sticks Thaddeus with a golden needle to make sure he is not an addapter and, assuming he is not, hands him the gem.
"Hold onto this and I will be back shortly."
After that he steps away from Thaddeus and salutes the scaled elves with the Hunter of Paladins, gives a wink, and says "Haberdashery", and disappears

Just waiting to see if Sha’ar or Ari attempt to stop Parker’s departure.

That telepathic bond has not worn off.

If I can stop Parker from leaving with the sword I do. That weapon goes no where but the Guardian Temple until we figure out what to do with it.

Ok. Ari will have to physically stop Parker if he wants to.

So the question Ari needs to answer in 0.5 sec: Is the Hunter of Paladins exerting control over Parker (as it has a history of doing) to save itself or is this just another instance of Parker being Parker?
Can’t take the chance of this thing getting loose again (or of Parker becoming the next paladin hunter).
If Parker doesn’t drop the sword voluntarily, we will make him. I’ll apologize later.
“Astrek, fetch!†3 disarm attempts to knock the sword to the ground from the raging celestial badger, which are opposed attack rolls. Without any buffs, +29/+29/+24. Parker gets an AoO.

Parker has been within Kerkly's Magic Circle against evil, which prevent mental control. So he shouldn't be controlled.
-

That may have some SNAP implications.

Benlin takes out the Trumpet and readies a heaven's trumpet. It would get all of the elves if I get in position.
We are all invisible, the sphere is still activate even through it was suppressed inside, so they shouldn't be able to see us.
The Lantern Archons (who would have teleported outside as soon as building began to collapse) begin to cascade aid all of us.
Kerkly gets the Aspect of Bahamut spell readied.

The elves are not all packed together. They are in disciplined formations about 300 yards away from you.
You can safely assume at least some of them can see you.

Did anyone get a level after your return from the plane of shadow?

Nuts.
Okay, so don’t you need to ready an action to completely avoid attacks with greater blink? Otherwise it’s just a 50% miss chance, I think.

I'm going to have to go ahead and agree with Valdis on this one. Time is of the essence despite what Russell or Parker may have done to break it.

Parker's AoO: He doesn't attack he yells "What in all the nine hells are you doing!!"

Two d20 rolls on Discord = 20, 17
So 2nd claw disarm attempt = 20+29+4 (size) = 53
And bite disarm attempt = 17+24+4 = 45
Claw attempt succeeds. When the hunter falls to the ground Ari steps between it and Parker, "Nothing personal, Parker. That thing has a way of dominating those who wield it. I can can't take the chance of it turning one of my friends."
He then pulls a blanket out of his bag of holding and hastily wraps the Hunter up in it, being careful not to touch the weapon directly. Once bundled up, he hands it to Kerkly for transport. "Now you can leave."

Parker takes a few steps back "Wow, looks like that's a tough one to wrangle. If only someone whos moral compass wasn't one the ARTIFACT actively tries to get away from and murder, was holding it. I bet it wouldn't be putting up a fight. Oh well, I guess we'll never know."
Parker walks over to Astrik, reaches out to scratch his head and says, "No hard feelings", then walks over to Thaddeus, turns around and calmly watches the entertainment.

Roland says: “That’s a terrible idea Arishimoto. We all go or we all stay, though I’m not sure what good it would do to slaughter a few thousand elves and likely lose our lives in the process.â€

You teleport back to the edge of the Vale and find Isolder and Alyssa on patrol. From there you walk the rest of the day to the valley floor. As you walk you get the uncomfortable feeling the black sword is plotting and would kill you and flee if it could. Rubius, Sha’ar, Thaddeus and Argest are the only ones who can handle it without violent resistance or it attempting to exert its will over you.
Upon arriving at the town Ecscalon and Emerius, the massive orc bladelord, come to greet you. As soon as you come within 30’ of Escalon the sword writhes and emits a psychic shriek. It wrestles it’s way free and for a moment skitters along the ground before Emerius stomps on it, pinning it to the ground with 500lbs of muscle and armor.

"Hi guys. So.....good news/bad news. Uscis is dead. But Marius got away. Oh, and we were able to recover the Hunter. But we may have restarted the war with the Scaled Elves. So a productive day overall, I'd say."

What happens when Thale Blazingem and Lord Vanyar get here? Are they planning on destroying the sword? Rubius offers to assist in any way possible.
To Roland: "Is there any way we could use your newly acquired weapon and armor set to track Marius? We really need to put an end to his tyranny."
To the group: "Can anyone Scry Marius if Roland's gear can't help? I think we should focus on tying up that loose end and let the fine diplomats of the Guardian Vale handle the situation with the Scaled Elves. If we allow Marius to roam free, he'll continue to manipulate others and bend them to his will. The Elves will never truly be free until he's out of the picture."

Thale and Martine arrive the next morning with a small retinue of soldiers. Martine is fully armed, wearing the Champion’s Mantle and carrying the black shield. After greetings are exchanged the soldiers place a stout lead and adamant case on the ground. It appears to be filled with mud. Boram Firepeak, the Temple’s master of unarmed combat, emerges from the main tower wrestling the sword as if it were a constrictor snake. Moebius, Kerkley’s massive Minotaur comrade, runs over and grabs the sword. Together they force it into the case whereupon it lets out a terrible psychic shriek before Martine slams the case shut and Thale seals it with a symbol of power. Moebius and Boram look spent and are both cut badly.

Ari activates his fast healing aura for Boram and Moebius. “Well done, my friends. That looked like it took a lot of effort. You know, Rubius grappled with that thing too. Do any of the Guardians have any insight on the condition afflicting Uscis? He was doing more oozing than in our previous encounters.
Also, what’s the prevailing theory on Marius? Was that some sort of shadowy projection of himself? How do we find the real version?

You all sit for your morning meal. Maglore joins you and after hearing your description of the battle (and asking the above questions) he begins rubbing his temples. It’s very disconcerting as none of you can ever remember seeing him show any sign of frustration.
“We know so little of Marius or the Doomknights for that matter. Marius is thousands of years old and likely has access to Magic’s we have never heard of. For Uscis it may be that he was prepared for battle or, even more discouraging, perhaps he’s grown even more powerful in his time here.â€
Escalon says: “It is supposition, but my guess is the Iron halo you described indicates he is now under Marius’ control. Still recovering the sword is no small consolation prize.â€
Maglore says: “I will attempt to conduct further research on both issues.â€
