Title: DnD Tools
Post by: Malchia on November 19, 2014, 07:02:24 PM
I'm sad to report that DnD Tools is officially on borrowed time.  Below is the latest commentary pasted straight from their site.

End of an era...

Nov. 19, 2014

Bad news my fellow gamers…

Wizards of the Coast has sent us a Cease and Desist order.

As a non-profit all volunteer we have neither the means nor the know-how to properly fight this litigation. As it stands we are in the process of shutting down the site.

We will no longer be adding any new information so please do not send us any more comments to fix pages or requests to join our contribution team.

Unfortunately, we do not have a specific date when the site will be shut-down, but it will happen.

Best regards,

DndTools Team

I always wondered how they stayed up. Too bad.

It would still be very useful if it didn't have the content but was just an index.

They are really trying to bury 3rd edition in every way possible.

Valdis, is there any chance you can crack the code and clone the site somehow?  It would be a shame to lose this valuable resource to the God of Lost Knowledge (aka the Wizards legal team).

Feels like I need to screen scrape this now, while I have a chance.  Though the filter doesn't work.

The actual site is : http://dndtools.pw/

And.. funny enough. They give you a copy of the site for free.. for download if you want to make sure you have it.

If it was in my power to do so, I'd grant the new developers of this site bonus XP.  This is the best use of a True Resurrection spell ever.
