Argh. Suspects stay. Everyone else leaves. Bladelords + clerics = suspects. Do I need to write this down?

Parker, I swear by all that is holy that if you touch one more f**king thing in this place I will have Astrek remove you from the premises in bite-sized pieces.

The clerics are already sitting. The bladelords collectively shrug and return to the benches.

Parker raises his hand and waves to Ari without turning around.  Then, as he continues to walk out, he touches a bench, the door, and, when he is out in the hallway and still in sight of Ari, puts his back against the wall, and proceeds to try to make a dust angel.

Seriously? Fine.

<in celestial> Astrek, escort Parker outside.

What does wilt want?

When Astrek is done forcing Parker out, I have him start dragging suspects out if they still refuse to cooperate. We'll stage everyone at the arena of Tyrogatore's temple until the investigation is complete.

To Escalon: can you contact you friend Clement and ask him to come to Portet? Seems this Temple is in need of an interim High Cleric.

Wilar and the marshal block the cleric's view of Ari with their partially unfurled wings. Wilar says: "Sir Arishimoto, if we were in Messada or Cape Tolia I believe your actions would only be cause for momentary notice and gossip; but this is a city besieged. If you drag fifty clerics out into the street there could be insurrection. Confine them here, we can seal them out of this chamber. Judging by what I have observed all but a few of them are repelled by that thing and would be happy to leave its presence."

The marshal says: "If Sir William and the bladelords resist I will assist you in subduing them. I am no soldier, and though you and Wilar are accounted among the greatest warriors of the Kingdom, Sir William is among the greatest swordsmen who has ever lived and I doubt that the three of us can defeat him and six of his fellows. Not to mention he is the oldest living high noble of the kingdom. If they are to face trial I do not believe they will flee."

Marius, one of the most wanted fugitives in the Kingdom, was here for weeks...maybe months. Welcomed by this church to aid in the creation of this horrid object. Do you think he confined himself only to this part of the Temple? As far as I'm concerned, this whole building is a crime scene. I will not allow the suspects to linger here and give them the chance to tamper with the evidence that will prove their crime of aligning themselves with an agent of Darkness. If you have an idea that solves that problem, speak up. Otherwise, let's get this done with.

The Marshal says: "my Lord, you have come to the conclusion that these people knew of Marius' pretense of involvement or both but have not explained to us, or anyone, what evidence supports. that conclusion. My last suggestion is to ask the church of Stasis and Tfop if they would stand watch over the clerics here at the temple, and perhaps wait to see how long it will be until Clement can arrive from Mydyr. Otherwise I think this will end badly."

I was just reading through and didn't get to all of today's but it looks like Ari wants to prosecute the religion of falan for conspiring with the forces of the abyss so unless the church of falan is being run by Hillary Clinton then I would just let them.

Ari is visibly agitated at this question, fists and teeth clenched as he snarls a response: "The evidence is my direct observation of the crimes. When William and the other Bladelords were forcibly preventing me from entering the temple, they admitted that they and the clerics were aware of the presence of Marius, Malfeseus, and Imberb, and that that the situation was 'under control'. The evidence of the creation of a weapon of mass destruction is right in front of your face; perhaps the mask is obstructing your view? The suspects also discharged another unregistered weapon of mass destruction they were concealing on their property - Escalon witnessed several potent undead released from the black field while this clicker oops was occurring in here. The evidence of the clergy inciting a riot is also pretty f**king obvious if you look outside.

If my testimony is not enough and you want hard evidence, that's your job, isn't it? I'm not an investigator. Question the suspects, search the crime scene, and make these traitors accountable for betraying the Light.

No chance I will let these suspects remain at the crime scene, either. Disperse the crowd outside and get the suspects out of here. Only a direct order from the king will stay my hand. And I will follow that shortly with my resignation.

This day has already ended badly."

He used clicker oops to talk about a mess up that wasn't involving a clicker...I love it.

What is the state of the clerics that were outside?

When Ari says this Wilar had to actively stifle a laugh.

Because we had to back track no clerics have arrived yet.

One cleric and one bladelord of my choosing. That is my only offer.

In response to Ari's last response:

The Marshal nods. "We should have spoken in more depth before. In light of that I think it is reasonable to remove them. As I am here to advise you I would select a cleric and bladelord of some competence to remain. Our concern (nodding to Wilar) is this: if Marius or Iscen were to assault the temple to claim this thing, (nodding to the monolith), we will likely need the temple's defenses to hold them off until reinforcements can arrive.  After you choose we will see if the bladelords resist."
