So right now, the vote is 3-2 in favor of re-matching characters if the first match pits player against himself and there is another possible match-up with a character of a different player.

Still need: Malchia, Master Po, Hero, and Terrorshard.

So far 9 of us have confirmed to do the tournament.  With only two other possible, but unlikely.

I don't think a player should face another one of his own characters unless necessary.

I don't think anyone should have to battle their own character, unless it is near the end of the tourney, or unless it is Windblade because he has way too many characters involved in this.

With that vote in, I will give preference to not having players have to have their PCs fight each other.

Windblade's characters represent ~25% of the total field. That's really going to complicate match ups.

I say just deal with it when it happens instead of trying to work around it.

That will also allow DM Derek to play in a few more matches since I assume he would run the other character.

Still 5-3 for giving preference, so even with Terror Shard's vote, it would still win.   Preference will be given.

If possible, the player who is facing himself gets to choose who he wants to play the other character.  They will probably choose me, since I know he character already.  Then again, they may want me as the referee instead.
