Pretty interesting that the dragon swallowed the folly.. ( maybe it was the other name )

It did that after it spit its breath weapon at us...

As soon as Russell and the guardians were both here, Asinjin knew this would end poorly.
While still roided up on Transformation, he looks for Russell to punch.

What is the effect of Iskin fleeing and Marcus' destruction have on the undead and their other allies in the city?
-
To be clear on where everything ended:
- temple in ruins
- Iskin flew away having swallowed the folly
- Marius is dust
- the undead horse remains
- Navi and Wake the raven familiar are dead, anyone else including NPCs?
- no sign of Uscis
Did the wave of force effect structures? If so, did it level this section of the city?
-
My intention is to use this thread for wrap up of these events and then when appropriate to start a more general continuation thread for the transition years. I’ll try to give everyone a chance to reply to posts so we avoid any issues of getting too far ahead and then someone posting what they wanted to do five posts earlier.
After Iscen’s frees himself of the rubble and takes flight he is only visible for a few seconds (one round) before he clears the dimensional barrier and teleports away. Fortunately the area immediately around the temple is abandoned. Unfortunately a 500’+ dragon is visible for miles and for a brief moment you can hear panicked screams from the southern part of the city.
After he disappears the cloud of shadows dissipates. The more powerful undead on the other side of the wall likewise depart. Seeing the rest of the horde clamoring for battle, Ajax, Arion and Alara take up a position before the doors. After a few moments contemplating the ruins Escalon joins them.
Before the wall of force ends there is the sound of further collapse from the ruins and suddenly the ground in a circle around the original footprint of the temple gives way as the catacombs, sewers and other underground chambers collapse under the weight of the rubble.
Seeing a path around the wall many of the undead begin to circle around. This goes poorly for them as the first wave is annihilated by Ajax’s turning and those that survive find themselves in the overlapping auras of Ajax, the Gemblade and Escalon. Moments later the wall disappears and the remaining paladins rush to aid the others.

Benlin had a Fortunate Fate spell cast on him, and because he Share Spells with his familiar, can he trigger it to go off to save the familiar from death?

Was the familiar killed by the force blast or the temple collapse? If it’s the former yes but it has to then make the reflex save for the temple collapse.

Benlin wasn't in the temple.
-
Benlin wasn't in the temple.
Everyone outside had to make a reflex save when the temple collapsed.

He rolled a 16, plus at least 13, so 29 or more.

Poor Navi. It's probably some time before Ari realizes she winked out of existence.
Unless Uscis, Marius, or Iscen show up in Ari's 1.7 mile radius detect evil field, he will help dispatch the undead. Focusing on the most powerful first.

There is no sign of Iscen’, Marius or Uscis. The battle against the undead lasts several minutes. Most of them are incorporeal and as you strike them down more emerge from the black field. Spells and turning are the most effective means of dispatching them. In the end none escape and silence falls over the city. All but the most powerful combatants are physically exhausted and nearly all the divine energy had been spent.
Those knights and Guardians who did not come to grips with the undead disperse into the city to take stock of the situation.
Half an hour after the battle ends, two Vishtoo descend from the sky. Both are armed with a katana and wakizashi. One dressed in Icefian fashion, with a heavy fur cape over its natural cape, heavy boots, a quilted cuirass and wool trousers. The other is dressed in a leather gye and kilt, with a reddish tint, and sandals with straps that wrap it’s calfs. They land near Escalon and Arion and bow to the high king.
The one in the gye says: “We followed Uscis, looking for an opportunity to challenge him but he joined with the Scaled Knights and a great host of barbarians. They have withdrawn north.â€
-
Asinjin, now completely exhausted, coughs nearly uncontrollably from time to time. When it is clear that there is no imminent danger, he takes his leave and teleports home, saying he will return when he can to help.
-
Kerkly attends to whoever he can and helps to organize the remains of the city's residents. Benlin helps him.
-
With the exception of the faithful of Gruweas and Han-Sui, nearly all the city’s occupants have gathered in the wards closest to the docks or in their temples/shrines. The followers of Gruweas and Han-Sui have fortified positions around their temples, with civilians within.
-
Two days after the battle a contingent of clerics of Falan arrive. They are lead by Clement of Mydyr and Resnik of Messada. Clement looks very weary and Resnik, riding on his floating disc, looks very concerned. They are accompanied by numerous lesser clerics and others, including wizards and feyalin.

I’m not letting that little prick get away again. Astrek, time to go hunting. We’ll track him for as long as we need until we can pick him off.

Rubius will help in any way possible.

This statement immediately gets everyone’s attention. The Vishtoo dressed in Icefian fashion says: “My lord, there is no need to track him. He has withdrawn beyond the blizzard wall.†Firfin says “Ari, I rarely pull rank, particularly on you, but if you try to go off on some suicide mission, I’ll have Ajax and Emerius sit on you until I can find someone even bigger.â€

It’s not a suicide mission. It’s vengeance. I need an outlet for my rage, and this is the most productive option. Unless you know where Falan is?
I have no desire to sit around waiting for Nilas’Anor’s next diabolical scheme to unfold. I’ve done enough of that and look where it’s gotten us - a shadow dragon that’s now the new deity of the undead, a shade overlord as our neighbor, and a black knight that traipses around Icefia with impunity. We need to get on the scoreboard. If we act now it will catch Uscis off balance.

Firfin shakes his head and takes a swig from a flask (which he offers around). “There are numerous undead all about for you to vent your frustration. I suspect if the wyrm was now the new power of undeath we would all be its unwilling servants right about now. That didn’t strike me as leaving the field victorious.â€

Regardless of how the day is scored, we’ve been too passive with Nilas’Anor. I’m going after them, starting with Uscis. Maybe steep odds, but that’s pretty much the foundation of our entire knightly order.

Ajax says: “Lord Ari, if you will spend a few days here with me clearing as many of the undead as we can find I will go with you to the north. With your senses we should be able to find many here in the city and in the wilderness as well.â€

As Ari and the others discuss their plans, Arion is sitting with Escalon and Nisoru. The high clerics of Falan begin discussing the ruined temple. Resnik at one point tells Clement: "Even with potent magic it is unlikely we can restore it exactly as it was." as Clement begins to reply Arion stands and says: "This temple will not be rebuilt. What has happened here is a stain on the history of our Kingdom, in particular in the light of our obligation to the Scaled Elves. Sir Bartholomew, the Knights will establish a cordon around the grounds and allow none to pass without my permission. Nothing shall be done here until I am convinced the taint of evil has been completely purged." Clement looks as if he intends to speak but hold his tongue.

Is this an appropriate time for a slow clap?

Yes, although the reaction of those assembled is more stunned silence.

When Asinjin hears this, he makes a rare mental note. He dusts off the corner of his mind, on the opposite side of the s list, where he keeps the 'wise individuals' list.
