Ever wonder why they are called the String Mountains?
« on: December 04, 2021, 11:45:30 PM »
Ok, time once again.  Send me your ideas for new characters.  We are leaving the warm flat tropics of the Republic, for the moutains of the Kingdom.
  * We will be in the Kingdom, but there are many races there besides the dwarves.
  * don't put too much effort into them until you run it by me.
  * The Kingdom is approximarly 50% percent above ground, and 50% underground.  So, think about that before you give an idea.
  * No Arcanically Advantaged ( Sorcerers )

There aren't many races listed in Record of the Dwarven Kingdom, plus it's the new Era, so who's living in the Kingdom these days and what races are we allowed to choose from?

String Mountain Dwarves (note there are a variety of clan with different rules)
Sledgehammer Dwarves
Crystal Dwarves
Frozensky Dwarves
Ice Gnomes
Plateau Gnomes
Tinker Gnomes
Common Humans
Frost Giants
Grekku (Blind Orcs)
Gargoyle
Drow (from Underdark)

I don't have time to collect and post them right now as I prepare for Tuesday, but I will later this week.

I'll wait till the stats are posted before I make a determination.  However, since they live in Nomagrok, there defintily be a different feel then what I was planning.

There aren't a ton of them, and they don't tend to mingle with the spellcasting dwarves, so there are a lot of instances where I would agree, they don't work.

So thematically, we should focus more on characters from the arcane dwarven Kingdom?

There goes my berserking gargoyle cleric of Alarault idea.

The Setting will be for season 1, the Kingdom of the Dwarves.     That being said, all nations trade in Port Springs. The city of Barconrall also has many non-dwarven races (halfling, gnome, human) to help farm it's fertile volcanic soil.  Crazy Rock off the coast is full of Plateau Gnomes.  Gnarian's Rest is a bastion of Ice Gnomes.  Humans fill the valley and the north with their migratory tribes.

I would avoid "overland" races that would avoid tight underground places.

Vistoo, Drow, and Gree would be attacked on sight.
