Ruby also spent a very small amount of coin on appropriate sailing attire while in Cape Tolya. She sells the red dress that she wore to the event now that everyone has seen her in that. She comments that Lyri says wearing a different dress to each event makes a better impression.
Your first night aboard is not restful. The crew works in three shifts and while not raucous it’s not quiet either. When you take the deck the next morning there is nothing but empty ocean in all directions. You can see the two closest frigates with the naked eye and the next pair with a spyglass. Tessa and Tadren have attached a huge kite to the stern and take turns riding it aloft. The captain has allowed it today as you are still in waters technically under Icefian control. Nisoru leads sword instruction for the marines (there are twenty of them) and prayer before the midday meal. There are two chaplains aboard, one a cleric of Stasis the other of Lakius. Both are clearly intimidated by Nisoru.
The crew is roughly 80% human (and supermajority of that Icefian) and most of the remainder are half elves, with a few elves mixed in. The exceptions are a senior marine NCO, named Fortas, a Vass; the ship’s navigator Gaudio, a Nipit; Gullen the master of the artillery, a Plateau Gnome (who is very excited by Lord Tadren and Tessa’s presence) and his apprentice Ruben, a Goblin.
