The Paster and Breach with an A make good points.  If we intend to fight them off, as it seems we do.  Then we should hide those incapable of fighting, so they cannot be used in nefarious ways.

Is everyone here on our side, or are some villagers content to live a life of slavery rather than confront the oppressors? This is a question for our Yinites.

Our advantage lies in surprise. If a frightened villager informs the cult of our presence, our success will be more difficult.
I make it a point to ask Si'amta if she would allow us to hide the children and elderly before arrival time 2 days from now.  I don't want to do anything against the villagers' wishes, but I'll try my best to diplomance my way to an agreeable answer (Diplomacy +8).  I do my best to keep the conversation calm and convincing that we're here to help.  As I recall, she was spouting off praise and simple prayers when we arrived and announced our religious affiliation, so I'm hoping they're all okay with the plan.

Again, these questions are filtered through Oz and take a while to answer.  No one likes the situation.

They are answering questions, what other help do you ask for?

In the confrontation.

None of them fight.  None are capable of heavy labor.

They offer food and to tend the wounded.

Are those capable of heavy labor already enslaved?

Iwakasi will ask for permission, and a guide, to take him to the part of the village that the blue lizard creature enters when it comes to take workers.  He wants to get a lay of the land.  See what buildings are there.  How they are arranged.  Does the wall continue there?  Can it be made higher?  Does the forest come close to the town?

Yes, minus the several men here that are resting.  The beast gives a few days off to recover and rest and be with family.

Does the forest come close to the town?

It does not.  The village is surrounded by grass and rolling hills and occasional tree.

See what buildings are there.  How they are arranged.

The town is arranged with houses on both sides of dirt paths that wind through the village in a not well laid out but not random way.  There is no thought give to defensibility.

The wall goes all the way around the village with the exception of three spots where the path exists.  In those spots, there is a bamboo fence that can be placed down to cover the opening.  The wall is only two feet high and is designed to keep out rabbits.  It can be made higher, but you see no piles of stone nearby.

I let everyone know that I am going to go scout the area.  I will keep my mindlink with Oz in case trouble arises.  I also let them know Cyrus is on a boat heading to the city.  I am not sure exactly when he will be here.  I plan to communicate with him later to find out.

You arrived midday and spent a while talking.  There are about 5 hours of night.  When you you head out?
