Two of the other ships known to whale are at port.  Amare warns Rin that taking action against a ship at port would have negative consequences on the Guardian of the Tides.  Meaning, were you to attack a ship or crew safely at port in the city, the Guardian would likely be banned from coming to the city.

I would be foolish to attack a ship in port.  I would however have a word with their captain. either on board, or on the dock.. I'm not picky.

I would introduce myself genially ( avg charisma ).  First I implore the captain to stop whaling, as they take generations to grow and are to few in number.  I would let the captain know I find whaling to hurt the seas, and protecting the oceans is one of my duties.  I do not want to destroy their profession, take their bounty from the plentiful fish, or crustations.  I would  let the captain know that if I was to come upon them at sea, and to find proof that they have killed a whale.. it would be survival of the fittest.  I would not judge them on their past actions, everyone deserves another chance.

There are four ships that operate out of Port Springs that are known to whale.  Only one of them is a dedicated whaler.  You hear through the rumor mill at port that they knew you were coming and got out of the city.  It is a Sledgehammer owned, human crewed vessel named named the Sea Spoils.

.. writes the "Sea Spoils", and the others down on the list

Time to put Taiji's 1 rank in Prof(gambler) to use.

Here are the odds he's giving for Claude Spotting:

Bugbear/Drow/Gnoll/Kobold/Goblin/Wug/Amatine Gnome/Retsunagi 20/1
Dwarf 50/1
Elf (non-Drow) 5/1
Gnome, Ice 50/1
Gnome, Plateau 2/1
Gree 2/1
Half-Elves 1/1
Half-Orcs 8/1
Halflings 4/1
Human, Horarian 1/4
Human, Islander 1/1
Human (other) 1/2
Lizardfolk, Gatori 3/1
Lizardfolk, Sandoo 5/1
Lizardfolk, Vass 2/1
Nipit 5/1
Orc 10/1
Sakor'akai 5/1
Senyohafa  4/1

Taiji's smart enough to not accept bets that he couldn't back. If any category is getting too much action, odds will be adjusted.

Other wagers accepted as well (e.g., quinella, exacta, trifecta, etc). Funds distributed to winners for each after a house cut.

The temple of Lakius in Port Phiam is called the Broken Wave and its cleric is an elderly horarian named Ebian.  He was known to be a watcher of the sea and military-minded individual.  Recently, he was seriously wounded in an attack on his temple and become more reclusive.

That is good information.  Are we doing the visit there on the boards or when we play next.

Play it out.  We will begin next session arriving at Port Phiam.  Anything before that is fair game on the boards.

Taiji will also run some proposition bets on the side. Male or female Claude? Maimed left or right hand?
