The Kingless Crown
« on: December 14, 2011, 12:28:53 AM »
After hearing the somewhat flat, emotionless statement from the herald, the Marshall mounts the stage and takes the pronouncement scroll from the herald's hands.  The man is clearly badly shaken.  The crowd now numbers over 1000 and they are growing impatient for information.

The Marshall after reading the scroll to himself, his mask hiding his reaction, reads aloud:

This evening, a few minutes after dusk, his Majesty, Darscon Gemblade, High King of Icefia was slain.  His majesty and his Court were at the Headquarters of the Northern Army; in the far northwest frontier, in the newly opened mines.  A beast, like those that attacked our capital only a few days hence emerged from the gloom and struck the encampment.  It slew many and struck down our beloved king.

To those subjects living in the lands of the High King, a state of emergency has been declared by the order of the King's Steward, Howland Crystalsmyth.  All subjects are to return home each evening no later than the 7th bell after midday.  Those who have business after that hour must register with the constabulary each week.

More news shall be released as soon as possible.

Rob clearly falls in prayer for a few minutes.

Somewhere Luigi goes...

"Oh damn... and immediately goes to check on The Slayer in the display under the steps at the Eternal Circle"  and he sighs as he thinks of the odd Claude that damned him with this responsibility...

Vasili is mostly detached for a little while, but has faith in the laws of the land, and we won't be thrown into chaos.
