Quickened Spell

Should quickened spell provoke an AoO?

D20 rules state that they don't, but we have played they do up until the tournament.

Windblade:
I don't think they should get an AoO because the idea of a quickened spell is you simplified your casting action so much that you are able to do it with great speed and little movement. 

I didn't realize we played it this way. 

Malchia:
I agree.  Quickened spells should not provoke AoO.
