Do we recognize Ajax? Or any others. I have ranks in region, history, nobility. And bardic knowledge.

Can you give a brief description of the horde and location again?

The rift opens into a large city square with very old architecture. In the center of the square is an aged Orc, wearing Stasis’ symbol on his tabard and surrounded by a corona of celestial light. He is trying to hold off hundreds of attackers. The corona disintegrates fiends and zombies but the mortal warriors seem sure to overwhelm him. From stories you have heard you are sure it is Ajax. Beside him is a copper dragon which breaths its acid breath upon enemies as they emerge from more gates and portals than you can count.

There are a mix of other defenders, mostly Habololian Orcs, but they are vastly outnumbered. You do not recognize any of the others.

Closer to you is Russel. He is casting spells but when he sees you he shouts “You have to go back. Find another way back.”

Just before the rift closes Uscis charges over his own troops on his Nightmare mount and attacks Ajax.

In the "glimpse"
Did the attackers appear to be similar in appears to the orcs and others we've seen here? Yes

I've been warned about that Russel being.  Dad says elves of all kinds are too smart to mingle with time, and he lives there.  It's is possible we where looking at the future.  Cause being at the head of this mob, we should have beat them through.

Do we have time to talk about this? You can discuss here but at the moment assume it’s internal monologue. Where do we pop out?  Does the portal poop is right back in front of 65k Moragaan warriors? Both TBD

We didn't happen to see our rainbow colored fiend during the vision, did we? No

Did we see the spelljammer ship we flew in when travelling to Dakkon? No

Were there any Oni in our vision? No

Was the sky a normal color back on Habololy or the lifeless gray here on this world? It seemed dim, but not the uniform gray sky of Dakon.

Any sign of the Nameless One or his minions? No

How many other rifts were visible and what types of creatures were pouring out of them? More than you could count. Orcs, goblins, giants, Baazteu and Yugoloth.

Was any technology involved (greater clickers, war machines, etc.)? No

Any recognizable banners or holy symbols present during the assault? Some of the Orc and Goblin banners you have seen here.

Did Russel look any older/younger than we remember him to be? Not particularly

Was Russel injured in any way? Not that you could see

What was Russel wearing (any new garb or holy symbols that differ from the past we know)? No but he had a sword and staff.

Exactly how much trouble are you in from DM Asinjin and how many plotlines have you altered? None yet.

The alternative title of this thread is: A Door Between Worlds.

Everyone gets 2000xp.

Your glimpse through the rift lasted approximately 4 rounds but those who failed the will save only for 1 round. Feel free to ask questions for more detail. DM’s discretion on what you could have seen in that time.

What type of guards?

All human. Typical of what you’ve seen in the army.

The main gate is open but appears to have over a dozen guards. There are several other lesser entrances with no one posted outside.

Uther reaches into an inside chest pocket of his surcoat and pulls out the sleeping bat, who wakes squinting hard against the daylight and squeaking in protest. Uther addresses Ember:

“You can go back to sleep shortly. Right now we need your help to figure out where we are. Fly up and take a scan of the area around us. Stay within range of our link (1 mile). Note any signs of life, towns, buildings, or changes in the landscape. Return here when complete or if you run in to trouble. Don’t get too close to anything. Stay high above the trees.”

All everyone else hears is Uther making a series of chirps, screeches and squeaks.
Ember makes several wide circles of the area. Less than a mile inland there is a crumbling farming village.  There are no other signs of life. The fog limits visibility to less than a mile. He finds no signs of recent activity.

Everyone gets 2500xp for a well executed plan and creative use of abilities.

Deirdre came the next day.  As far as you can tell it’s the same day she arrived. It’s at least 10 degrees cooler where you are and while you are near the shore there is no indication you are on an island. The land stretches to the limits of your vision in all directions except out to sea (south you think). It is lush, green, temperate hills and cliffs. There is a low mist above you.

I suggest that the illusionist make me invisible and I go out and do some electric psionic damage.  I have been training to create energy attacks and think I can create a ball of lightning at about 210 yards distance.  I suggest we start this right away.  I can skate out invisible, moving swiftly and damaging their front lines.  I will put the cursed boots back on and once out there will be moving quickly (55ft).  I will blast a section filled with humanoids (20ft. radius).

It deals 7d6 damage, DC 19 to everyone in the radius.  I look to see how the first one goes before unleashing a 2nd.

Check my math-The enemy is 400 yards away but you have a 210 yard range. So you need to move 570’ to get into range.  55’ a round it will take you 11 rounds (get down the wall)?
