General Discussion / Spell Variants
« on: March 29, 2013, 08:16:29 PM »
When researching a spell to take or using one you have in your arsenal, what is the definitive version of the spell we should be using in Habololy?  For example, spell "X" is listed in one of the "Complete" books, a Forgotten Realms supplement, and in the Spell Compendium.  Which do we use?  Are there house rules for such decisions?

Epic Handbook / BAB

This may be printed somewhere, but I don't feel like looking it up, so does anyone know if base attack bonus increases at epic levels?  I'm pretty sure a character can't have more than 4 base attacks without using feats, spells, special abilities, or flurry, but does the actual number ever go up?  For instance, does an epic fighter have +21/+16/+11/+6 at 21st level or does it cap?

Errata / Habololy Deity Page
« on: February 28, 2013, 11:57:27 PM »
I noticed the Deity page on the Habololy site did not have the updated domains listed.  The only way to view them was to click on each Deity individually.  DM Derek has since updated the main list to reflect the updates and now a comprehensive summary exists next to each Deity's name.

Is there such a thing within the vast Habololian library?

If a character has an item that increases intelligence, does that character gain the benefits of extra skill points when gaining a level?  If not, why?  If so, what happens to those ability points if the item is lost or destroyed?  Does the character keep the points (are they permanent?) or does the character lose them like HP during a rage (are they temporary?)?

General Discussion / Metamagic Feats
« on: September 01, 2012, 01:48:41 AM »
Can multiple feats or abilities be used to lower the enhancement penalty of a metamagic feat to 0 extra spell slots?  For example, would it be possible to take "Easy Metamagic" (Empower Spell) to lower the effects of that metamagic feat to 1 slot higher instead of 2, then proceed to take "Arcane Thesis" on a spell and lower it to 0?  An example would be an empowered lightning bolt that normally uses up a 5th level slot (3rd for the spell and 2 for "Empower").  Easy metamagic (Empower) lowers it to a 4th level slot.  Would taking "Arcane Thesis" for Lightning Bolt lower the spell slot back to 3rd?  "Easy Metamagic" doesn't stack and can't lower metamagic feat below 1 extra slot, but "Arcane Thesis" doesn't make mention that there's a limit to lowering spell slots, only that each time you take it, it applies to a different spell.  I'm just throwing this out to all the veteran gamers out there to get your take on this idea.

« on: August 21, 2012, 07:14:32 PM »
Wizards released a premium edition of the 1st edition core rulebooks on 7/17/12.  Here's a link to the official site: http://www.wizards.com/dnd/Product.aspx?x=dnd/products/dndacc/02410000, and here's one from a place selling them for a reasonable price on Ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/160852571907?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

This is an excerpt from the Wizards site:

1st Edition Premium Player's Handbook
Gary Gygax

In 1974, the world changed forever when Gary Gygax introduced the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game. The legacy of his innovative ideas and the extensive reach of his powerful influence can be seen in virtually every facet of gaming today.

To help honor his work and his memory, we created limited-edition reprints of the original 1st Edition core rulebooks: the Monster Manual, Player's Handbook, and Dungeon Master's Guide. These premium versions of the original AD&D rulebooks have been lovingly reprinted with the original art and content, but feature an attractive new cover design commemorating this re-release.

Your purchase of this monumental book helps support the Gygax Memorial Fund—established to immortalize the “Father of Roleplaying Games” with a memorial statue in Lake Geneva, WI.
