As you enter Central, it is the 19th day of the 11th month.  There is close to only five hours of sunlight each day.  The temperature ranges from 50 to 60 degrees in the day.

Now that we are in central, I'm going to switch all my spell around.. something tells me my enemies will be different.

I have the cloak of many skills.  Do we have a better name for that  ;)

It doesn't have a name that any of you know of, you just call it that cause that describes it.

How about Cloak of the Hertoplowan Thieves?

The inn you find soon after passing the guard posts is called Smofarf's Warm Mug.  Just its name tells you the 'sprawl' has been left behind and you are in a vibrant city.  You can tell by the activity level, energy, and enthusiasm; that things are different here.

This domain, as the guards called it, dedicated to Smofarf, is magically lit.  So despite the dark, you can see clearly.

Gnevil has the dagger from the first bandit encounter. Can I use my scientific method approach to try and identify its enhancement bonus based on the amount of damage it does? I have a non-magical dagger that I can use as a baseline of comparison and plenty of free time in the cart to generate an adequate sample size.

That was a little anti-climatic.

After setting up a series of tests that only involve on Oops, and subsequent evacuation of his allies, Gnevil is able to determine that the dagger is sharper than his mundane one, but not sharp enough to do some of the amazing things highly magical weapons are capable of doing.  He determines then, that the dagger, while magical, is of the least magical variety, what the arcane practitioners call +1.

Probably. You have a non-magical one I can use as a baseline of comparison?

It's a club. I hand him a piece of wood.

So I don't really need to explain the differences between an exceptionally crafted wooden baton designed specifically for use in hand-to-hand combat and a piece of scrap lumber do I? Because I will if you need me to, but I hope I won't have to.

I'll do what I can to identify the enchantment bonus of the baton using methods similar to the dagger.

The Baton is impossible to cut with the dagger, so it is more magical.  But it is not made of a rare metal or wood, so its not that magical...either +2 or +3.

Harrick's eye glaze over..."maybe I shouldn't have the club.. I've never used a weapon before... unless you consider a fork and steak knife a weapon"
